just because
The bible can be deconstructed
that's the deconstructionist view
@drinkbleach right now i'd rather you be trolling the whole chat
You can interpret contridictary meanings from it
than what theyre talking aobut
Post modernism is rightb
Let's be honest
wrong @Queef Madagascar
your brain is a loser
yeah the Bible doesn't contradict itself
@Zephial Why the Bible? Tell me why you think Jesus was our lord and savior
playing pubg sorry i cant rn
and i am not like a scholar on it
can we talk about memes
its just my opinion for the bible
these guys are boring
this angers brayden
@Luxuryballs All texts are fundamentally meaningless
without God it is meaningless for sure
Try telling that to a post modernist
I just mean like you can have scripture and read historical aspects of it and what not, read the quotes about what they say
but to get the meaning out of it in the moment, you need God
it's like a decoder ring
but yeah eventually the text by itself is meaningless
the language can become forgotten, etc
So you need god to gleam meaning, but to get god you need to understand the meaning?
right
Wat
That's a circular argument
he's more real and available than the text
In your worldview
The bible can be deconstructed
you don't need the Bible or even to be able to read to get God
i love jesus
You can interpret contridictary meanings from the Bibles
but if you so happen to get God and be able to read, then that's a huge benefit because now you can check out the scriptures
My summary on religion: Religious texts are an unbelievably obvious attempt at "herding" humanity. There is no doubt we needed it in the early stages of humanity in order to build law and order. But at this point, it's questionable whether it's still needed in order to "ease the minds of the masses". The only thing unique, special, or "important" about religion is that it seemed to naturally arise in every culture around the world. And that's the end of the conversation of religion. From there, science takes over.
