just because

2017-10-15 03:22:58 UTC

The bible can be deconstructed

2017-10-15 03:23:07 UTC

that's the deconstructionist view

2017-10-15 03:23:08 UTC

@drinkbleach right now i'd rather you be trolling the whole chat

2017-10-15 03:23:10 UTC

You can interpret contridictary meanings from it

2017-10-15 03:23:13 UTC

2017-10-15 03:23:20 UTC

Post modernism is rightb

2017-10-15 03:25:26 UTC

this angers brayden

2017-10-15 03:26:22 UTC

@Luxuryballs All texts are fundamentally meaningless

2017-10-15 03:26:28 UTC

Deconstruction proves that they are

2017-10-15 03:26:38 UTC

without God it is meaningless for sure

2017-10-15 03:26:57 UTC

Try telling that to a post modernist

2017-10-15 03:27:21 UTC

I just mean like you can have scripture and read historical aspects of it and what not, read the quotes about what they say

2017-10-15 03:27:37 UTC

but to get the meaning out of it in the moment, you need God

2017-10-15 03:27:41 UTC

it's like a decoder ring

2017-10-15 03:27:57 UTC

but yeah eventually the text by itself is meaningless

2017-10-15 03:28:06 UTC

the language can become forgotten, etc

2017-10-15 03:28:12 UTC

So you need god to gleam meaning, but to get god you need to understand the meaning?

2017-10-15 03:28:19 UTC

right

2017-10-15 03:28:22 UTC

Wat

2017-10-15 03:28:28 UTC

That's a circular argument

2017-10-15 03:28:37 UTC

he's more real and available than the text

2017-10-15 03:29:13 UTC

In your worldview

2017-10-15 03:29:20 UTC

The bible can be deconstructed

2017-10-15 03:29:21 UTC

you don't need the Bible or even to be able to read to get God

2017-10-15 03:29:28 UTC

i love jesus

2017-10-15 03:29:39 UTC

You can interpret contridictary meanings from the Bibles

2017-10-15 03:29:45 UTC

but if you so happen to get God and be able to read, then that's a huge benefit because now you can check out the scriptures

My summary on religion: Religious texts are an unbelievably obvious attempt at "herding" humanity. There is no doubt we needed it in the early stages of humanity in order to build law and order. But at this point, it's questionable whether it's still needed in order to "ease the minds of the masses". The only thing unique, special, or "important" about religion is that it seemed to naturally arise in every culture around the world. And that's the end of the conversation of religion. From there, science takes over.
