1) having guns automatically makes one a criminal?
2) if government (or anyone rich and powerful enough) ever wanted to, they could (and are doing this if it's beneficial) frame any law-abiding citizen and he would suddenly be considired a criminal
3) when regular citizens can have guns, they can actually protect themselves;
often police can't; criminals are less likely to mess with such citizens
