there's an earnings gap, because men work more overtime and frequently go after higher paying jobs and to ask for raises/promotions. female-dominated fields don't usually pay that well, like teachers

2017-10-19 19:53:50 UTC

it's not a sexist or anti-woman sentiment by any means.

2017-10-19 22:26:28 UTC

Is it morally wrong to ask if there are cognitive difference between the races since the physical differences are undeniable

2017-10-19 22:30:48 UTC

if there was a pay gap then why would companies not hire only women since they'd be able to pay them less

2017-10-19 22:32:08 UTC

it's the same problem with the idea that we're in a white supremacist nation, if we were then all the news coverage would be on dead white guys and not minorities

2017-10-19 23:15:58 UTC

Wage gap doesn't exist

2017-10-19 23:17:14 UTC

Some companies are retarded so the "why don't they only hire women" reason isn't that good. Some companies actually only hire women

2017-10-19 23:17:32 UTC

The wage gap is calculated based on the average salary

2017-10-19 23:19:13 UTC

And considering that 4/5 of the most paid jobs are mainly men and 4/5 of the least paid jobs are mainly women, it makes sense how the average salary is less for women.

2017-10-19 23:20:16 UTC

The gap doesn't take in work hours, occupation, etc., when they calculate it

2017-10-19 23:21:16 UTC

the people who believe it probably doesn't understand basic math and business or are just completely ignorant

2017-10-19 23:38:05 UTC

They need to focus on getting more women interested in high paying fields, if they really care. Fact is, most women don't want to become engineers and programmers and whatever else makes money

2017-10-19 23:38:45 UTC

good argument m8

2017-10-19 23:39:18 UTC

Not really arguing. Just saying.. Don't think wages are the issue

minimum wage leads to goods costing more because of the workers requiring a higher pay leading to more money for the workers but everything costs more so inflation and this leads to everyone having the same amount of wealth as before minimum wage

2017-10-20 04:19:01 UTC

is this accurate?

2017-10-20 04:35:39 UTC

Idk

2017-10-20 04:36:15 UTC

less hours given and less hires

2017-10-20 04:45:56 UTC

CNN finally did it.. They blamed Trump for Harvey Weinsteins fall from "grace". http://archive.is/2DNWt

its completely inaccurate, its inflation that drives wage (or at least should) not wage that drives inflation

that is why wages have been at best stagnant, usually going backwards over the last several decades

while company profits, stock markets and bosses wages have skyrocketed

oh... and add in politicians wages

but the far bigger problem is globalisation where you compete on a world stage for the lowest wage but the highest living cost
