The wage gap is calculated based on the average salary

And considering that 4/5 of the most paid jobs are mainly men and 4/5 of the least paid jobs are mainly women, it makes sense how the average salary is less for women.

The gap doesn't take in work hours, occupation, etc., when they calculate it

They need to focus on getting more women interested in high paying fields, if they really care. Fact is, most women don't want to become engineers and programmers and whatever else makes money

its completely inaccurate, its inflation that drives wage (or at least should) not wage that drives inflation

that is why wages have been at best stagnant, usually going backwards over the last several decades

while company profits, stock markets and bosses wages have skyrocketed

but the far bigger problem is globalisation where you compete on a world stage for the lowest wage but the highest living cost
