I believe that to be saved you must at least keep his commandments
as that is a common theme throughout the scripture
Well Romans says that it's by faith, not of works
of course, what I was talking about was anecdotal.
```For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.```
Eph. 2:8-9
Technically you're only saved by The Mercy of God
But you need faith to get to that
Works are good though
Works are great, we are commanded to do them
Ye
and they give us additional rewards from God, both in this life and the next
but not salvation
Truth
```Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.``` - Galatians 5:4
Take that, Pharisees
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
Ecclesiastes 12:13
I love the book of Ecclesiastes.
It is the duty of mankind, but it's not the means by which we are saved
Romans 3:28: ```Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.```
Yes, but faith should be shown through the keeping of the commandments
Well I'm glad that you agree on this now
Keeping the commandments is indeed the way to show the faith within
```Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.```
James 2:18
Ecclesiastes is a great book
Aye it's beautiful
What are your opinions on the keeping of God's festivals?
"The Lord hath created medicines out of the earth; and he that is wise will not abhor them." -Ecclesiastes 38:4
Well, keeping festivals is optional
```One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.```
Romans 14:5
How so?
Because of the verse I quoted
in the Old Testament it was compulsory, but we're in the New Covenant now
I have always believed that it was the cessation of the sacrafices, not of the days themselves. Throughout the old testimate it is clear that they are to be kept as statutes forever.
forever being a very important word
Have you read the Book of Galatians?
That's where Paul speaks against Judaizers
