2017-11-24 17:34:51 UTC

I have one, waiting to buy my 2nd

2017-11-24 21:16:46 UTC
2017-11-24 21:16:49 UTC

yes

2017-11-24 21:16:52 UTC

S9s are really good

2017-11-24 21:16:53 UTC

fairly loud

2017-11-24 21:22:45 UTC

theoretically, how many S9's could you run off of one router? im thinking about buying like 12 if this one works out.

2017-11-24 21:23:25 UTC

would i need to upgrade my home isp to business bandwidth? probably right?

2017-11-24 21:26:01 UTC

no

2017-11-24 21:26:08 UTC

they dont use much bandwidth

2017-11-24 21:26:12 UTC

The problem is noise and power

2017-11-24 21:26:30 UTC

Each one sounds like a small vacuum

2017-11-24 21:27:37 UTC

yea 60 decibles running wide open. its not an issue, gonna keep em in the garage. good to know, thx. i wanna hook a buncha these things up.

2017-11-24 21:27:49 UTC

they use a lot of power

2017-11-24 21:27:52 UTC

lots

2017-11-24 21:28:06 UTC

yea i figured operation cost at $1440/yr

2017-11-24 21:28:37 UTC

my friend has a bunch of avalonminer 741

2017-11-24 21:28:41 UTC

each use $50/mo of electricity

2017-11-24 21:28:59 UTC

how do those compare to the S9s?

2017-11-24 21:29:11 UTC

not as good

2017-11-24 21:29:13 UTC

they are half the price

2017-11-24 21:29:23 UTC

he bulk ordered $40-50k of them

2017-11-24 21:29:28 UTC

he couldnt get his hands on that many s9s

2017-11-24 21:30:34 UTC

i searched for a few hrs last night trying to find like a power mining rig and couldnt find one. the daughter said the S9 was op. and yea, the next batch they're shipping out on the S9 i ordered is in January. apparently they are behind on production/demand.

2017-11-24 21:31:35 UTC

my friend runs his bitcoin miners in a warehouse since it was too noisy for garage/basement

2017-11-24 21:31:38 UTC

i might go all in on the mining thing soon too, the profit is there. i just want to see one of these things work before i do.

2017-11-24 21:31:38 UTC

Insanely loud

2017-11-24 21:53:45 UTC

@SchloppyDoggo what you need is an insane circuit

2017-11-24 21:53:59 UTC

they take up something like 1000W each I think?

2017-11-24 23:34:09 UTC

thats gonna trip a 15 amp home circuit with 2 of them connected

2017-11-24 23:35:51 UTC

is crypto currency mining even worth the electricity it uses anymore?

2017-11-24 23:46:52 UTC

@Hentai Frog depends on what miner you have

2017-11-24 23:47:01 UTC

my friend has a bunch of avalonminer 741s

2017-11-24 23:47:09 UTC

they use $50 of electricity a month but generate about $210

2017-11-24 23:47:27 UTC

so $160 net a month

2017-11-24 23:47:32 UTC

And hes got a bunch

2017-11-25 00:53:00 UTC

I have one in my basement, idk what circuit I could afford to plug it into

2017-11-25 00:53:07 UTC

maybe our spare bedroom

2017-11-25 03:02:09 UTC

I keep mine at the north pole because they run so hot, if they get frozen and stop operating I usually set mine on fire and it does the trick

2017-11-25 03:02:27 UTC

just like new
