back to my point about mining, you can have your opinion, but you're sorta implying that I should not be mining.

@SchloppyDoggo what do you recommend for mining?

2018-02-09 20:58:19 UTC

hardware wise

2018-02-09 21:00:17 UTC

@.PunishedShlomo What do you want to mine

2018-02-09 21:02:55 UTC

@.PunishedShlomo i mine zcash with 6 and 12 card rigs. cant seem to get the b250 asus mining expert mobo to register 19 cards. others have the same problem. in terms of gpus i buy any 1060-1080 i can buy but never the ti's cause they have lower h/s doing zec. it depends on what you want to mine but i think zec has a future as a privacy coin. its got good devs which is why i like it.

2018-02-09 21:03:46 UTC

i got 2 antminer s9s and i dont really like them. i'd rather gpu mine.

2018-02-09 21:04:12 UTC

you got more options with gpu rigs imo so its a better investment.

2018-02-09 21:23:45 UTC

ok

2018-02-09 22:34:20 UTC

reeeeee moar miners

2018-02-09 22:37:10 UTC

we need more GPU miners

2018-02-09 22:37:15 UTC

keep the GPUs more expensive

2018-02-09 22:37:23 UTC

Keep poorfags away from gaming

im thinking about getting together a HDD miner just for fun

2018-02-10 00:35:43 UTC

have like 30 HDD's hooked up just mining away. i might do it just to piss off my wife.

2018-02-10 01:15:20 UTC

lolol

2018-02-10 01:57:54 UTC

@SchloppyDoggo thoughts on this mining rig I want to build, the budget is $3,000-$4,000 with the lower end price being more likely what i will be able to pay. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Lalna_Rocks/saved/4TGYrH
I plan on getting 2 more 1070's besides the 2 on this list

2018-02-10 01:59:21 UTC

@.PunishedShlomo Are you using it only for mining?

2018-02-10 01:59:25 UTC

yes

2018-02-10 01:59:32 UTC

Ok then

2018-02-10 01:59:36 UTC

You really don't need an i5

2018-02-10 01:59:51 UTC

or 16gb ram

2018-02-10 01:59:53 UTC

or an ssd

2018-02-10 01:59:58 UTC

or that cooler

2018-02-10 02:00:08 UTC

Your CPU won't really be doing anything

2018-02-10 02:00:18 UTC

And don't bother with windows just don't activate it

2018-02-10 02:00:42 UTC

KB too expensive for something youll never really be using

2018-02-10 02:01:04 UTC

How will i connect to pools then or do I do that remotely, im a bit of noob at this side of things

2018-02-10 02:01:18 UTC

You only need to be spending big bucks on the GPUs

2018-02-10 02:01:23 UTC

Everything else can be very low tier

2018-02-10 02:01:27 UTC

(except for PSU)

2018-02-10 02:01:55 UTC

definently the psu, a friend of mine had a not so great psu, that he thought was a psu and it caught on fire

2018-02-10 02:02:09 UTC

@.PunishedShlomo well, i got to warn you about that asus b250 mobo, its a bit of a bitch so just be prepared for some troubleshooting. i recently set one up about 2 weeks ago and ive had loads of problems with it. im sticking with 6 card rigs now.

2018-02-10 02:02:21 UTC

Get a platinum PSU

2018-02-10 02:02:33 UTC

Celeron or Pentium for CPU
