because solidworks doesn't compress files as much, which while the immediate cost is not clear to the average person, since files take up much more space for even the most basic models, but the likelihood that the program will hang due to the program having to take the time to decompress a file, the file takes up 685MB stored, but takes up 8GB uncompressed
