the performance of 2x1070's isn't practical, if he's gonna SLI he might as well spend the money for 2x1080ti's

if you dont want sli then stick with 1080p or 60hz

a single card cant run high refreshrate past 1080p

it costs ore for 2x1070's more to run them, not all games support SLI, not all games have good SLI optimization and that is a heavy considering factor

also even on well optimized SLI supporting games, you don't get a great advantage from 1070 SLI< so he might as well get a 1080Ti, and if he really finds it insufficient, then he can SLI that.

this isnt an argument about sli its an argument about what you're spending your money on

a 1440p monitor with a high refresh rate is worthless on a single card

I run 1440p 165hz gsync monitor with 1x1070, I have not complained, if I really didn't think that I was getting good enough framerate witht he 1070, instead of investing ina $3500 acoustic guitar, I would have bought a 1080ti after reselling my 1070, lol
