Einsatzgruppe A, had 990 members. If we subtract from this the 172 vehicle drivers, 3 women employees, 51 interpreters, 3 teletypewriter operators and 8 radio operators, there are about 750 combatants left to use for the mass killings
and afterwards , anyone questioning the accuracy of the numbers was labeled as anti-semitic
to 15th October 1941, Einsatzgruppe A supposedly killed 125,000 Jews. Considering the fact that the mass murders first began in August the overwhelming ma- jority of the 125,000 victims, let us say 120,000, must have been killed in a period of ten weeks.
except if they claim the numbers were higher
@John Rebuttal no, because that number isn't being used to calculate the death toll, it's just Korherr's estimation for how many Jews were in the General Government at the time. What is used from the Korherr Report is his number for how many Jews were given "special treatment" in the camps in the GG and Warthegau, which are respectively 1274166 + 145301 = 1419467
So in ten weeks 750 people killed 125,000
In addition of finding them
Capturing them
@The_Don_73 why do you think those 172 vehicle drivers and 51 interpreters weren't also combatants
and the Einsatzgruppen didn't work alone
they had Wehrmacht members helping them too
The first paragraph was quoted from Hilbergs work
Lmao
Unless he’s wrong
some years ago before bbc went totally crazy they made a documentary about the numbers.
i may watch it again
i respect your dedication to this topic , though @agag
thanks @John Rebuttal
i mean, in that i like when people know a subject well.
any subject
How many individuals helped
OK, I found the actual part in Hilberg's book. It's on page 289. What you posted is not a direct quote.
Nowhere does Hilberg say that you should subtract these members from the overall number of people operating
Do you assert every person was a combatant
This does count indigenous units no?
probably not the female employees and the administration, but the rest I see no reason for them not to be combatants
As auxiliary
no this doesn't count indigenous units, this is the core Einsatzgruppen unit. Indigeneous units were additional to this
“They rounded the Lithuanians, Estonians, Latvians and Ukrainians as auxiliary police”
Maybe I’m missing something
But that say “auxiliary police” in the graph
oh, yes, the auxillary police included in that calculation are
but there were other indigenous people that assisted the Einsatzgruppen as well
Such as?
the holocaustcontroversies link I sent earlier talks about them
Which one
Yeah I read that
