oof
bcs we spend way too much on it
we are on debt
in debt
@thrill_house it must include purchasing power parity tho, as living costs in each individual country is different
it was like 40-50% of our money goes to welfare
I thought that's only Italy, Ireland and Spain
I've been researching wage vs. home costs for a while trying to figure out where to live in USA
North
Which in turn gives everyone affordable healthcare and education
a lot of the money doesn't go into useful stuff like that
You will be glad about that when you're old and sick, or your parents grow old.
have you seen the roads outside south
they are getting shittier every single day
so much money given to unemployed people
who don't choose to work bcs they make more money off welfare than actually having a job
fuck affordable health care / education
haha y3s
throwing money into education doeesn't fix our problems
*doesn't
our education system here is designed so that it's as valued as the community wants it to be
It's hard to explain in english
@thrill_house and not investing money into education worsens everything. Look at the US honestly, largest economy yet it's industry mostly comprises low-skilled manufacturing which can easily be subjected to competition by developing countries with a large labour force like China.
I can try when I get home
Finland has so much unemployment
When in terms of exports I mean, the US manufacturing industry is way behind other developed countries overall.
i said this yesterday
few h rs later my acc gets bannned lmao
not the way ours is designed with student loans and how college is basically taking anyone who will make the money. we installed a system where just about everyone has unlimited money to get whatever degree they wish (where millions never finish because they were never smart enough for college to begin with but someone gave them the idea that it's in their best interest to attend) and then they spend the rest of their lives at $30k/year jobs paying off loans they will never be free from
>new to discord
lmao
F
with everyone going to school here, the standards for degrees have been watered down and the meaning of getting an education is now pointless
and guess who fell for this trap? who's now over-represented at all our universities? women and minorities
Europe does it better than the US in the sense that around middle school they identify which students should be focusing on trades instead of taking "Shakespearian Philosophy Pt 2"
if we were a homogenous society, I'd agree with you that investing in education is in our best interest. We're not though. We have so many people who are honestly wasting a shit ton of time and resources at universities all to become professional hair stylists after they finish college.
Hell yes
So excited for that
