Good morning

2019-04-27 15:02:26 UTC

Ok so it's believed that the moon is debris of earth, and that the debris came from when a planet hit earth. Wouldnt that like push earth out of its orbit if it was hit by a planet

2019-04-27 15:03:42 UTC

That is a complex scenario, they don't truly know how the moon came to be, a mere speculation

2019-04-27 15:06:51 UTC

Yes ofcourse but since it's like the "official" hypothesis they must have thought of that? Like it's a genuine question from me not a statement.

2019-04-27 15:08:20 UTC

lol can’t talk

2019-04-27 15:10:13 UTC

Ultimately, you would have to take that up with the people running the simulations of that hypothesis, to see how it would affect orbit, because that is quite complex.
There are other proposed scenarios as well, I don't think there is a truly official catch all story for it.
