Another large-scale, stealthy cyberattack is underway on a scale that could dwarf last week's assault on computers
worldwide, a global cybersecurity firm told AFP on Wednesday.

The new attack targets the same vulnerabilities the WannaCry ransomware worm exploited but, rather than freeze files,
uses the hundreds of thousands of computers believed to have been infected to mine virtual currency.

The Obama Justice Department discriminated against military veterans, trying to force them to withdraw their
applications for two job postings — then canceling the postings altogether and rewriting the jobs to prevent the
veterans from qualifying, a government watchdog said Wednesday.

Under federal law, veterans should have gotten preferential consideration for the two positions in the International
Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program.

But Justice officials had their eye on non-veterans, and scheduled meetings off-site to try to force the veteran
candidates to withdraw their applications, the U.S. Office of Special Counsel said. The veterans refused to withdraw and
human resources told the ICITAP hiring officials that they had to hire the veterans.

Intent on avoiding that, the ICITAP then canceled the initial job-postings and re-listed the jobs a year later, in 2016,

Beijing threatened the Philippines with war if Manila pressed its claims over the disputed South China Sea islets and
drilled for oil in the area, according to Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.

Duterte produced his seemingly sensational comments while delivering a speech at the National Convention of the
Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary in Davao City. The Philippine president recalled Monday conversation with China’s

The person is a senior White House adviser “close to the president,” but the unnamed sources would not identify that official, the Post reported.

“The sources emphasized that investigators remain keenly interested in people who previously wielded influence in the Trump campaign and administration but are no longer part of it, including former national security adviser Michael Flynn and former campaign chairman Paul Manafort,” the Post reported.

The left-wing billionaire turned the Philadelphia district attorney’s race on its head by giving $1.45 million to fund a

DePaul University is hiking student fees to finance a scholarship fund for illegal immigrant students.

Students approved a campus-wide student government referendum, spearheaded by the Undocumented Vincentians and Allies
student group, that calls for a $2.00 quarterly increase in the Student Activity Fee to fund the scholarship program.

Soon after, the Student Government Association announced that Father Dennis Holtscheider, DePaul’s president, had
approved the fee hike, and that school officials hope to fully implement the scholarship by September.
