showers in their locker rooms, suddenly now are concerned about “student privacy.”

The lawsuit charges that without any notice to students or their parents, school officials “secretly opened” their sex-
specific restrooms and locker rooms to students of the opposite sex.

The male student notified school officials, who informed him that they now authorize students who identify themselves as
the opposite sex to use whichever locker room they wish. Rather than protect the student’s privacy, officials told him

A shelter-in-place order was issued Tuesday after a person tried to turn in possible explosives at the Tenderloin Police
Station at Eddy and Jones streets in San Francisco, officials said.

“At 12:15 p.m. a citizen found and brought to the Tenderloin station possible explosive devices,” said Officer Giselle
Talkoff, a spokeswoman for the San Francisco Police Department.

She added that the person was trying to turn in the materials, and that there had been some evacuations in the area,

A drug discovered more than 100 years ago may hold the key to combating autism symptoms, according to a study.
Researcher Dr Robert Naviaux of the San Diego School of Medicine gave suramin, a drug first developed in 1916, to 10
autistic boys between the ages of five and 14, and noted transformative results.

Dozens of residents banded together Tuesday to try to stop federal immigration agents from arresting an undocumented man wanted by police for burglary, according to reports.

The neighbors gathered on 112th Street in Richmond Hill as ICE agents were arresting 35-year-old Hardat Sampat.

A teenager has reportedly been sentenced to death by a village council in Pakistan’s Punjab province for having a sexual relationship with her cousin.

The 19-year-old denied having consensual sex with him, saying her relative had raped her at gunpoint.

The woman said in a statement to police she and her family were asleep at their home in Rajanpur, a rural district in southwest Punjab, when her cousin came into the house and sexually assaulted her.

“I could not raise an alarm as [he] was holding a gun,” she told police, Press Trust of India reported. “But the panchayat refused to accept my statement and declared that I willfully slept with him.”

Panchayats – informal village justice systems that operate in remote areas of Pakistan – have been criticised for handing out cruel punishments for adultery. The sentences they give out have no legal standing.

The woman said the court took no action against her alleged rapist.

Thick, black clouds of smoke have been seen towering over the Vatican amid reports a huge fire broke out in a car
junkyard.

Photos and videos of plumes of smoke filling the air have been shared on social media this afternoon.

Local channel Rai News reported the fire broke out inside a car depot in Via Mattia Battistini, Rome, and that over 50
cars were involved after a "series of explosions".

(3rd update, 2:39 p.m.) Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on Friday confirmed that the lone gunman behind the attack on Resorts World Manila is dead.

Dela Rosa, who earlier claimed that the gunman was killed after resisting arrest, said that the suspect set himself on fire in one of the rooms at the hotel.

“Patay na siya. Nagsunog siya sa sarili niya sa loob ng hotel, sa Room 510,” Dela Rosa told reporters. “Sunog talaga.” (He’s dead. He burned himself inside the hotel in Room 510. He was burned beyond recognition.)

A federal judge sentenced the first American ever to be convicted of attempting to engage in jihad on behalf of the

Job creation fell sharply in May with just 138,000 new positions created, while the unemployment rate declined
to 4.3 percent, according to Labor Department data released Friday.

The Trump administration has asked the Supreme Court to restore the ban on travel to the U.S. from citizens of
six Muslim-majority countries.

**Per Reuters:** "The administration filed two emergency applications with the nine Court justices seeking to
block two different lower court rulings that went against Trump's March 6 order barring entry for people from
Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen for 90 days while the U.S. government implements stricter visa
screening."

**Last week, an appeals** court in Richmond upheld the block on Trump's order. Chief Judge Roger Gregory ruled
that it, "speaks with vague words of national security, but in context drips with religious intolerance,
animus, and discrimination." There have been conflicting rulings on the order, and on Trump's earlier attempt
to implement the ban, as it has worked its way though the courts.

A proposal to adopt a single-payer healthcare system for California took an initial step forward Thursday when
the state Senate approved a bare-bones bill that **lacks a method for paying the $400-billion cost of the plan.**

The proposal was made by legislators led by Sen. Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) at the same time President
Trump and Republican members of Congress are working to repeal and replace the federal Affordable Care Act.

The bill, which now goes to the state Assembly for consideration, **will have to be further developed, Lara
