the 5th wave attack was augmented reality headsets for earth's kids trained as soldiers to see other humans as alien infected hosts so they'd have to kill them
the movie was programming and counter programming
first 4 waves was shear truth of an actual alien invasion if they choose to actually wipe us out by screwing with our planet before even entering orbit
well first 3 waves i should say
the virus they need to spread while in atmosphere
or send down probes to spread it

the aliens were already on earth at the time of the waves of attacks
they were in the military already

they developed the augmented reality gear for the 5th wave and was training their fresh troops of kids from the survivors of the other 4 waves to go out and kill other survivors by making them look like alien mind probe infested and the only way to kill them was kill the host

used to train kids here in usa til somebody put a stop to it
only military school academies do it now
trump is from one of those academies
his jhs+hs was a military academy
anyway, they needed the young minds because the adults were too stuck in their old ways to be retrained ....
they bussed the kids away for 'testing' while they killed off the parents
u'd have to see the movie to understand it fully
i'm a scifi nut so i try to keep up on most stories that make it to tv and movies

the host is a modern revision of one of those pod ppl movies..except nobody is in pods in this one
they invade...upgrade the planet and the ppl and how they live or is supposed to live....a true socialist utopia ...except under alien control of ur bodies
they repress the minds that own the bodies they take over ...or 'kill the minds'
