why not just lower taxes lol

2020-03-17 16:49:22 UTC

These tech companies aren’t going anywhere and they’re going to continue to destroy small businesses in our local communities

2020-03-17 16:49:48 UTC

That’s the problem when amazon closes all those retail jobs in your community people won’t have a job so a tax cut won’t help them

2020-03-17 16:50:04 UTC

The objective is to create more businesses.

2020-03-17 16:50:09 UTC

Put more money back in working class government should not be taking money from us anyways

2020-03-17 16:50:24 UTC

Yes but if there are no jobs what would a tax cut do??

2020-03-17 16:50:46 UTC

It will continue funding industries

2020-03-17 16:50:58 UTC

Big companies will replace workers with automation to save money. Truck driving is one of the most common jobs in 23 states. They’re already working on self driving trucks

2020-03-17 16:51:01 UTC

giving everyone 1k doesnt create businesses lol

2020-03-17 16:51:32 UTC

What’s going to happen to all the truck drivers making 70k a year? It does create business. What do you think people waste the money on? Goods and services

2020-03-17 16:51:34 UTC

It just takes money from working to distribute to non working we already have welfare

2020-03-17 16:52:01 UTC

i'm actually okay with liquidating welfare and using money instead.

2020-03-17 16:52:26 UTC

takes the overhead out of the equation

2020-03-17 16:52:26 UTC

I’ve been watching a lot of John stossel videos lately, he explores smaller issues in local governments, like regulations and such, and there are lots of them which discourage entrepreneurship and generally bad for economy, you can also see some blatant corruption, crazy stuff, in more worried about those laws and infringements on human rights because only way to get rid of those is to sue the government which will take time and a lot of money, most ordinary people will just not bother to deal with it leading to more tyrrany

2020-03-17 16:52:38 UTC

We’re going to lose jobs regardless of what you think. Look at stores around you like CVS and Walmart. They replaced cashier with self serving kiosk. Imagine that on a national scale

2020-03-17 16:53:04 UTC

Yes long term play what does society look like

2020-03-17 16:53:34 UTC

What is the logical conclusion to AI / ML and Kiosk

2020-03-17 16:53:40 UTC

1k to everybody would stimulate the economy. New jobs will be created to keep up with the demand

2020-03-17 16:53:57 UTC

Replacing workers with robots saves money long term

2020-03-17 16:54:24 UTC

Robots also never need a break or get sick.

Obviously this will be great for software engineers and computer science majors

2020-03-17 16:54:27 UTC

What is the logical conclusion think 50-100 years

2020-03-17 16:54:45 UTC

If you can’t code you won’t have a job? I don’t understand the question

2020-03-17 16:56:13 UTC

Societal implications and logical outcome what are we striving to? Robots doing everything do humans can live without working anymore? We just enjoy the fruits with no labor?

2020-03-17 16:56:14 UTC

I was an information science major and let me tell you. Coding isn’t for everybody. While you’re guaranteed a job it’s actually pretty hard.

I can’t imagine a truck driver that’s been driving for 20+ to be retrained in a complex field.

With 1k in his community demand for other jobs with be greater. He can easily find work elsewhere

2020-03-17 16:57:35 UTC

so whats the difference with lowering peoples taxes by a flat $1000 rate and giving them a check.

2020-03-17 16:57:38 UTC

If you had an extra 1k a month I guarantee you that you would go out more in your community . Maybe go to a bar or restaurant. This would force bars and restaurants to expand and higher more people to keep up with demand

2020-03-17 16:57:54 UTC

You can’t lower taxes if there is no jobs that’s the issue.

2020-03-17 16:58:17 UTC

You can’t provide money if there’s nobody working either

2020-03-17 16:58:22 UTC

Yes lowering taxes is good but it’s not good if you’re jobless. Depending on your industry and level of education you might not have a job 5-10 years from now

2020-03-17 16:58:51 UTC

If you provide 1000$ to everyone why not everyone quit their jobs and there would be income equality ?

2020-03-17 16:58:59 UTC

Is there a FUCKING yangganger in here?!???

2020-03-17 16:59:00 UTC

a jobless person isnt going to stimulate the economy.

2020-03-17 16:59:20 UTC

The objective is to do a “UBI” before people lose jobs. Do a Value Added Tax in Giant tech companies. Remove UBI for basic consumer goods like Groceries, kid stuff, etc

2020-03-17 16:59:33 UTC

Of you provide tax breaks then you reward the working class not the scum

2020-03-17 16:59:53 UTC

You’re not understanding the middle class is going to diminish with innovation unless they’re college educated

2020-03-17 17:00:07 UTC

sounds like luddite fallacy speak

2020-03-17 17:00:10 UTC

That’s what we’re trying to avoid. We’re also trying to get rid of social welfare programs that people abuse

2020-03-17 17:00:35 UTC

It’s fine if you don’t believe companies are going to try to automate their workers

2020-03-17 17:00:51 UTC

We’re seeing it right now. Wether you believe it or not, it won’t stop what’s coming

2020-03-17 17:00:58 UTC

Not our job to help those who don’t want to help themselves

2020-03-17 17:01:03 UTC

i believe they will but you cant do it quickly without letting the greater economy adapt.
