indvidual rights above group rights.

2018-01-13 06:15:30 UTC

More like not everyone will know how to handle individual freedom.

2018-01-13 06:16:00 UTC

How many of us would rather be guided sheep. Stuck but content with doing one thing

2018-01-13 06:16:13 UTC

No ambition or will to improve oneself.

2018-01-13 06:16:39 UTC

if we all had 100% freedom we would be overwhelmed by biological motiviation

2018-01-13 06:16:53 UTC

I’m truly failing to see what is so hard to understand about a group of people making government their bitch rather than collectively being subservient to government

2018-01-13 06:16:58 UTC

whether it be violence, drug use, stealing

2018-01-13 06:17:25 UTC

Collectivism appeals to the people who are aware of their personal weaknesses and want the collective to compensate for them.

2018-01-13 06:17:45 UTC

Hmm guess its a small govt vs big govt

2018-01-13 06:17:46 UTC

Individualism is an ideology for people who want no responsibles and have no ambition in life.

2018-01-13 06:17:56 UTC

I wish that made sense

2018-01-13 06:18:19 UTC

I think we saw responsibility differently.

2018-01-13 06:18:37 UTC

this is <#398973785426100234> btw

2018-01-13 06:18:48 UTC

get out of my memespace you facists

2018-01-13 06:18:50 UTC

But I could argue that an individual would do better with ambition if not chained by collective doctrine.

2018-01-13 06:18:57 UTC

Well, it is beneficial for us to work together and compensate for each other's weaknesses, as it does make the whole better. The split comes when some want to *force* people to cover for other people's weaknesses.

2018-01-13 06:19:24 UTC

Well its just punishment vs incentivising.

2018-01-13 06:19:46 UTC

You are incentivised to compensate for anothers weakness in capitalism.

2018-01-13 06:20:07 UTC

Yes, but you still have the choice, whereas you don't if you're being forced.

2018-01-13 06:21:33 UTC

Collective doctrine gives people something to work for were individualism only brings nihilism for most people.

2018-01-13 06:21:54 UTC

Yes I personally need the government to force me to not be suicidal this is true

2018-01-13 06:22:08 UTC

this is a bit meta

2018-01-13 06:22:29 UTC

Heres the thing then. Not everyone can handle being free.

2018-01-13 06:22:52 UTC

Like showing the entire deck in HS as opposed to showing parts of it.

2018-01-13 06:23:02 UTC

Overwhealmed by choice as they say.

2018-01-13 06:23:04 UTC

Yeah, it can form a sense of purpose and cohesion. I mean, I don't want to start any kind of debate since I'm just using it as an example, but I am Christian, and that's made me far more content with my life and given me a purpose more than anything else beforehand.

2018-01-13 06:23:10 UTC

Goverment has nothing to do with it people need a group identity for a sense of purpose.

2018-01-13 06:23:38 UTC

group identity?

2018-01-13 06:23:42 UTC

inb4 the hate. lol

2018-01-13 06:23:44 UTC

Well you aint wrong there, but at the same time it results in mob mentality

2018-01-13 06:24:05 UTC

@JadenFrostwolf why do you expect hate 🤔

2018-01-13 06:24:06 UTC

What if it simply makes the collective resistant to change in general.

2018-01-13 06:24:28 UTC

Well, I'm used to the "lol your a Christian?!" kind of responses. lol

2018-01-13 06:24:44 UTC

lmfao i'm over that

2018-01-13 06:24:48 UTC

Like the leftists, blm, sjws and antifa. Are these not the results we feared should collectivism take root.

2018-01-13 06:24:59 UTC

How do you prevent those first

2018-01-13 06:25:06 UTC

a corporation is a collective

2018-01-13 06:25:17 UTC

But yeah, it can result in mob mentality, which is why we do need individual freedoms, just not taken to an extreme.

2018-01-13 06:25:29 UTC

@ping you know nationality, ethic, racial and or religious.

2018-01-13 06:25:30 UTC

Well I mean there are benefits

2018-01-13 06:26:07 UTC

The question now is how do you deal with well, unruly collectives while respecting their rights to assemble.
