I don't think there will be any good for society to consider gender non-binary

2018-03-05 01:44:37 UTC

@Arch-Fiend here is a question: if gender =/= to sex, then what is gender to you (aside from not existing)? It seems to be a more or less recent divergence between sex and gender.

2018-03-05 01:44:47 UTC

i consiter gender nonexistant and also communist propaganda

2018-03-05 01:45:17 UTC

but what is it?

2018-03-05 01:45:23 UTC

because it used to mean sex

2018-03-05 01:45:33 UTC

but if it is not that, then what, exactly is it?

2018-03-05 01:45:40 UTC

i mean if you have a definition for it then its your definition, i dont have a defintion for it

2018-03-05 01:45:50 UTC

Thank you friend.

2018-03-05 01:45:54 UTC

gender is a very new word

2018-03-05 01:46:51 UTC

okay, let me rephrase, what is the gender that you say doesn't exist. I don't think you can say something doesn't exist if you don't have a definition for it.

2018-03-05 01:46:52 UTC

nah, gender isn't a new word. Gender is also useful in biology and science. If you deny gender you will go backwards in many many areas

2018-03-05 01:46:59 UTC

stats also become shit

2018-03-05 01:47:00 UTC

i think gender to the people who invented the word means to discribe social and psychological sexual characteristics

2018-03-05 01:47:30 UTC

so like gender roles?

2018-03-05 01:47:40 UTC

rather than biological sex

2018-03-05 01:47:55 UTC

if thats what they think

2018-03-05 01:48:52 UTC

@.B please don't confuse things in this conversation, biological sex, as everyone here seems to agree, does exist and is binary. Unless you count more than just humans, then there is like 5.

2018-03-05 01:49:57 UTC

unfortunately social and psychological sexual characteristics have to many veriables in my opinion to be solid scientificly. some are, because they are influinced by the hormones produced by our brains and also by the different needs birth givers have in society comparied to non-birth giving of the species. however when you throw culture into the mix gender roles become slightly more complicated

2018-03-05 01:51:11 UTC

i wonder how many of these SJWs don't believe estrogen and testosterone exist

2018-03-05 01:51:25 UTC

@Grenade123 I don't think I'm confusing it. Medication is gendered, stats we use to make up laws, are gendered. The left is also trying to redefine "woman" and "man".

2018-03-05 01:51:25 UTC

pretty much all of the time you can tell that women wont be in extremely dangerous or certain death roles in society (ie war) but outside that role the postion of women and men in society become more blured

2018-03-05 01:52:26 UTC

especially with influince of culture and even then, technology seeks to slowly erode all social roles men and woman have

2018-03-05 01:52:56 UTC

evolution of war has permited a greater blurring and will contenue to as technology increases

2018-03-05 01:53:41 UTC

you can deny gender roles and wait for the result of that. Denying gender exists is another thing entirely

2018-03-05 01:53:43 UTC

that will translate into an effect on psychology and also evolutionary psychology as mating selection will change with it

2018-03-05 01:54:01 UTC

gender isint sex

2018-03-05 01:54:39 UTC

people are trying to replace sex with gender because sex is an old word thats harder to fuck with because of its concrete definition

2018-03-05 01:55:13 UTC

@.B alright, then let me pose this question to you: What is gender?

2018-03-05 01:55:16 UTC

if you see gender used in science outside of social or political science then its bullshit

2018-03-05 01:55:43 UTC

@Grenade123 in the west, another word for "sex"

2018-03-05 01:56:25 UTC

the only thing gender means to me that makes sense is for it to mean social and psychological sexual characteristics

2018-03-05 01:56:30 UTC

also the classical joke of asking "Sex" can be followed by "yes please", while "gender" is followed by the binary answer

2018-03-05 01:56:41 UTC

gender is defined by sex and thus not the same thing

2018-03-05 01:57:26 UTC

gender, even if redifined, cannot be picked randomly

2018-03-05 01:57:48 UTC

and all of use agreed sex is binary and that is not the definition we are examining. Different group of people have different definitions for words. even the US has its own variations on language. Coke can mean either the cola drink from coka-cola, just be a generic name for cola, or a generic name for soda.

2018-03-05 01:57:57 UTC

if you suggest scientific and well defined categories, I might be temped to agree

2018-03-05 01:58:27 UTC

Or the drug, cocaine.

2018-03-05 01:58:54 UTC

yes, but that stays pretty constant across the US

2018-03-05 01:59:12 UTC

your point being?

2018-03-05 02:00:09 UTC

gender's definition was always tied to sex. If we want (let's assume) to redefine it, do it properly at least

2018-03-05 02:00:36 UTC

otherwise we can just drop "gender" and just use "sex"
