what i kind of think is going to happen is leia is going to become suddenly more mystical and jedi-like in the next movie and be the mentor for ray that luke shoulda been if 8 was compatent. then the jedi scrolls will get involved because thats the only thing that 8 actually left some kind of setup for. and then its also going to be a battle between resistance and empire, ray and kylo where its going to be very teenage twilight dramay that the movies seem to think is a good idea now. hell they could have ray and kylo married by the end of it for all i know, its gonna be shit either way

my guess: the first order does everything entirely wrong because its run by white males, finn and rose become the new leaders of the resistance, constantly nearly destroy the resistance with dumb moves because they are inexperienced yet the deus ex machina of incompetent white guys keeps that from happening because they are even more incompetent than finn and rose. Rey goes off on some woman empowerment BS before killing kylo for being white and male.

Finn becomes the bumbling man to Rose's smart woman, Leia becomes Rey's Yoda, Poe dies doing something that Leia tells him not to do, Rey kills Kylo without saving him, and then rides off into the sunset.
