I still can't believe that the FBI thought it was OK to take the word of a private firm hired by the people they were investigating.
And nobody was fired or charged for that.
its the government, you thought they were competent at anything?
But is there precedent for that? Is it a normal thing to let private firms investigate things? If it is, then why the fuck do we have an FBI? If not, why the fuck was it permitted in this case? This isn't just simple incompetence.

I'd expect them to at least pretend they're trying to be impartial and competent. At the very least have a fig leaf.
Letting a private firm do the investigation and not even hand over the evidence is basically giving the American public a mushroom stamp.
