I don't care about opinions

2018-06-10 21:16:11 UTC

I wanted journalism, I wanted reporting, I wanted basic observations

2018-06-10 21:16:19 UTC

Unskewed, untempered, I want news.

2018-06-10 21:16:26 UTC

Fuck opinions lol

2018-06-10 21:17:28 UTC

youve said they arnt great thinkers, their not informed scholars, and they are so pretentious. that they are random blebs with opinions just like the rest of us. my argument, and my only arguement is simply, no one isint a random pleb with opinions even if they are the most respected scholar in their field. an appeal to authority is meaningless in matters of truth due to the inherent bias of the perceiver of any "truth". someone you walk past on the street may say the truth to you and the president of your country may lie, the only way you know is by guessing which one is actually the truth. infact even science doesent really or shouldent really care how long youve been working, the key to truth is science is actualy just if you can repeat results you claim to occure at the end of a reaction before the scrutiny of other people who will try to find better explanations for what youve claimed and show them.

2018-06-10 21:19:24 UTC

Tim injects his point of view and his experiences into what he says, and it's not just the facts.

2018-06-10 21:19:28 UTC

you made character claims btw that was mostly why i felt the need to be argumentitive. if thats not obvious

2018-06-10 21:20:01 UTC

Also why I said you were being dismissive @Chlodovech

2018-06-10 21:20:27 UTC

Dismissive to things that isn't news. It's all a matter of preference

2018-06-10 21:20:44 UTC

This was never about an objective judgement I am just some guy with opinions and I prefer one thing over the other.

2018-06-10 21:20:53 UTC

Why am I condemned for being dismissive of opinions?

2018-06-10 21:21:58 UTC

I'm not condemning you for being dismissive I've asked you what makes for a valid opinion verses and invalid one, and you response is "journalism".

2018-06-10 21:22:09 UTC

i think your fine to dismiss opinions, i dont think your fine to make accusations of character against other people especially if i can point out how that adhom doesent matter

2018-06-10 21:23:30 UTC

I don't have an answer to your question becuase you're talking about a different subject than the one I am speaking of. @Dennafen

2018-06-10 21:23:56 UTC

I was specifically talking about that video.

2018-06-10 21:23:58 UTC

truth is established with observation and rationalization. journalists cover observation (unfortunately most slipping in rationalization that doesent matter and often twists the observation when they dont just doctor the observation in the first place) where as armchair commentators cover rationalization by presenting a broader perspective onto the observation

2018-06-10 21:24:03 UTC

What can I say? An opinion is probably more valid if it's actually true or well reasoned.

2018-06-10 21:24:23 UTC

Truth claims aren't opinions.

2018-06-10 21:24:26 UTC

Oh I didnt watch the video I just saw the thumbnail and already knew I didnt like it purely for its presentation.

2018-06-10 21:24:37 UTC

Sure.

2018-06-10 21:24:44 UTC

Two people can be working with the exact same facts and come up with totally different opinions.

2018-06-10 21:24:53 UTC

Different conclusions.

2018-06-10 21:25:02 UTC

No opinions.

2018-06-10 21:25:21 UTC

Opinions as to explain the facts.

2018-06-10 21:26:00 UTC

Opinions are expressions of what is correct not what is factual.

2018-06-10 21:26:19 UTC

What one ought to do as opposed to what one is.

2018-06-10 21:26:22 UTC

I've got a feeling you're debating for the sake of debating. What is to be gained from this? I'm just a bloke that casually came by and saw that video and thought: ''oh great another one of those commentators with a sunglassed persona, like we didn't have enough of those.''

2018-06-10 21:27:36 UTC

So if tim had a cartoon avatar with sunglasses what he said would be of no interest to you.

2018-06-10 21:27:37 UTC

Perhaps their opinions aren't less valid. For me it was about presentation.\

2018-06-10 21:28:04 UTC

Well mostly because authentic journalists don't portray themselves as such.

2018-06-10 21:28:30 UTC

I don't see Kraut and Tea walking out on the street interviewing people, due to anonimity. Which is why those people use personas to begin with.

2018-06-10 21:28:33 UTC

You mean like Ben Shaperio and David Pakman?

2018-06-10 21:28:40 UTC

They want to be anonymous and thereby are confined to the internet.

2018-06-10 21:28:42 UTC

Those beacons of objectivity.

2018-06-10 21:29:13 UTC

Ben Shapiro isn't a journalist

2018-06-10 21:29:31 UTC

Neither is David Pakman.

2018-06-10 21:29:32 UTC

consitering steve crowder goes to the street and even he isint honest im not sure thats grounds for being trustworthy

2018-06-10 21:29:43 UTC

But they report facts.

2018-06-10 21:29:46 UTC

Okay.

2018-06-10 21:31:13 UTC

From the start it was about me having a preference for people that are engaged on the streets, aren't anonymous internet users, and emphasize being objective and reporting news.

2018-06-10 21:31:17 UTC

That's really all I can say.
