@zero_consequences I have to agree with the black haired girl, Fredrick Neichze was based as fuck, well until Hitler came along.

All these rant channels with animal personas or statues with sunglasses, man, theyre so pretentious lol

2018-06-10 17:43:27 UTC

They're not great thinkers, they're not informed scholars, they're just random plebs with opinions just like the rest of us

2018-06-10 18:59:29 UTC

You mean like Tim @Chlodovech He's just a random pleb like the rest of us.

2018-06-10 19:00:24 UTC

the secret is everyone is just a pleb

2018-06-10 19:00:32 UTC

Indeed.

2018-06-10 19:10:21 UTC

There is a difference since Tim actually does on the ground reporting

2018-06-10 19:10:36 UTC

interviewing, journalism, not spouting his own opinion constantly

2018-06-10 19:10:53 UTC

It can be considered actual news @Dennafen

2018-06-10 19:12:30 UTC

So your saying that the only when a pleb can be on video is when he or she isn't presenting their opinion. Because opinions what needs degrees?

2018-06-10 19:14:21 UTC

It's a nonsense argument no matter how to slice it, you can disagree with the opinions presented to you by people, but you shouldn't dismiss them because they're not sophisticated enough for you @Chlodovech

2018-06-10 19:16:33 UTC

@Dennafen Whoa your Cathy Newman impression is spot on!

2018-06-10 19:18:43 UTC

@Chlodovech "All these rant channels with animal personas or statues with sunglasses, man, theyre so pretentious lol" If that's dismissive I don't what is.

2018-06-10 19:23:32 UTC

They're not journalists they're guys with opinions. their words is not any more valid as the people you know RL or anyone that follows the news secondhand

2018-06-10 19:23:42 UTC

But yea it is dismissive, whats ze problem?

2018-06-10 19:24:32 UTC

You said I was miss representing you with my "Cathy Newman" impression. When I didn't.

2018-06-10 19:28:35 UTC

I didnt say opinions need degrees or that ''people cant be on videos'', they can do whatever they want, I only said their opinions arent particularly valid. Not any more valid than say your dad when he's commenting on something he reads in the newspaper.

2018-06-10 19:29:09 UTC

You said Tim's isn't much different but thats not true since he actually goes out of his way to the source of the news and seeks out multiple perspectives and all that jazz

2018-06-10 19:35:58 UTC

Okay their opinions aren't valid as opposed to what?

2018-06-10 20:00:15 UTC

As I said, as opposed to someone that is making news content that is actual journalism

2018-06-10 20:13:14 UTC

What would make their opinions valid. You're comparing apples and oranges when you say that.

2018-06-10 20:15:43 UTC

An opinion is an opinion. I am not making a judgement on when an opinion is valid or not

2018-06-10 20:15:55 UTC

I don't think this talk is going anywhere lol

2018-06-10 20:26:35 UTC

You singled out these youtubers as having opinions that "aren't particularly valid" that seems to imply that some opinions are more valid. So who can have a valid opinion is it just you?

2018-06-10 20:48:05 UTC

Okay I just read back and nowhere did I say anything about some opinions being more valid than other opinions. More the contrary that their opinions are equal to the opinion of basically anyone else.

2018-06-10 20:48:15 UTC

I dont give a shit about opinions I want reporting

2018-06-10 20:48:23 UTC

That's why I follow Tim Pool and not armchair commentators

2018-06-10 20:54:11 UTC

the majority of what tim does anymore is sit in his chair and talk about other peoples articles you know that right?

2018-06-10 20:58:43 UTC

the majority of all news since the construction of news media companys has been someone else dressing up the reporting of another person in a way that best fits their narritive, EVEN if that narritive is to present the truth best possible in a way that is most easly digested, though rarely ever that noble. the invention of the television actually got us closer to on the ground reporting and witnessing real events than before that even though news existed in some form, centurys before tv or radio. some anime or dog profile picture with a human void talking about something that in itself is probably about someones oppinion in the first place is simply radio with nice images, no more no less real than you get elsewhere.

2018-06-10 21:01:02 UTC

ultimately if you want the truth, no one can do more work for you than yourself even about a topic on the other side of the world, because youll never know more than what you perceive and rationalize, so the perceptions of others and rationality of others will only ever be a tiny fraction of influince on what you are truly capible of knowing

2018-06-10 21:06:53 UTC

That's not a bad sentiment @Arch-Fiend, we are ultimately the arbiters of what is or isn't true for ourselves.

2018-06-10 21:09:49 UTC

ultimately even then were flawed, so really i dont worry to much about what the truth is, 99% of us are just going to assume the truth is what we think anyway

2018-06-10 21:10:32 UTC

im going to assume the truth, and when i have more evidence ill assume again and perhaps contradict my former self
