yeah i witnessed that whole banning, too, and i have substantially minimized my spending on mtg, too. i just draft every few weeks now, no buying of booster boxes

2018-06-15 06:45:30 UTC

To be fair if you used to always buy fatpacks you now have plenty to go around and still enjoy the game

2018-06-15 07:50:31 UTC

Meh, I lost interest. I used to help out in a comic book shop introducing people to the game, I was BIG on Magic. Now, I don't like supporting a game that, should my political leanings be called into question, I would be banned from playing officially.

Besides, between that and Comics going full SJW, the shops where you usually go for that sort of shit become a fair bit unwelcoming, anyway.

Thats a good description of them. They're "nice" enough but I'll never make a friendship at any of them because its all about what *you* can do to make them comfortable. I don't go there to work and I sure as hell don't get paid to be nice.

2018-06-15 11:21:52 UTC

anyone shoot shotgun slugs regularly?

2018-06-15 11:21:56 UTC

I got a strange idea

2018-06-15 11:22:09 UTC

most slugs suck dicks through smoothbores

2018-06-15 11:22:41 UTC

and I was thinking, how to cause spin stabilization with zero rifling

2018-06-15 11:23:27 UTC

What if I modified the "wadding" base to make it spin as it's going down the bore?

2018-06-15 11:23:38 UTC

or even, how could I reliably do that?

2018-06-15 11:24:18 UTC

I was thinking if I made the wad two pieces, one half being technically a gas delayed blowback

2018-06-15 11:24:23 UTC

that was on a literal screw

2018-06-15 11:25:42 UTC

You have two pieces for the base that attaches to the slug, one which is the bottom that is extremely oversized, above 2mil or so

2018-06-15 11:25:56 UTC

that has a "Screw" in the center

2018-06-15 11:26:02 UTC

And gas ports

2018-06-15 11:26:12 UTC

then the base that attaches to the slug itself

2018-06-15 11:26:40 UTC

with an inside threaded hole that the screw goes into

2018-06-15 11:27:18 UTC

and the slug and wadding would not be super oversized, maybe exactly at bore size

2018-06-15 11:27:28 UTC

so the gas would fill this "Chamber"

2018-06-15 11:27:32 UTC

and it would want to expand

2018-06-15 11:27:56 UTC

and it'd twist (if the forces can be made to align correctly)

2018-06-15 11:28:07 UTC

then it would spin

2018-06-15 11:28:31 UTC

so it's self-propelled?

2018-06-15 11:30:12 UTC

that looks like it's fin stabilized

2018-06-15 11:30:24 UTC

which is a totally different and even more painful beast

2018-06-15 11:30:34 UTC

spin is super easy if you can get it to work right

2018-06-15 11:30:44 UTC

I just like loading 12ga

2018-06-15 11:30:58 UTC

it's super easy and there's a lot of room for mistakes

2018-06-15 11:31:38 UTC

I don't see the need in dedicating a shotgun to shooting slugs (i.e. rifled barrel)

2018-06-15 11:32:00 UTC

and the rifled chokes only work with some things consistently, not all things

2018-06-15 11:32:46 UTC

so if I could design a gas delayed wadding that can kinda work and provide enough stabilization to give consistent 2moa groups at 100 out of a smoothbore

2018-06-15 11:32:51 UTC

that'd be fuckng amazing

2018-06-15 11:33:56 UTC

my worry is that you need to counter the weight of the slug in the bore

2018-06-15 11:34:04 UTC

it is self propelled and shot out of a normal shotgun

2018-06-15 11:34:05 UTC

otherwise the bottom would just spin

2018-06-15 11:35:31 UTC

I don't think a 3d printer could make something that'll do this right

2018-06-15 11:35:45 UTC

maybe I could try it on lower pressure loads initially

2018-06-15 11:39:40 UTC

I wonder how I would be able to simulate shit like this
