Yeah I've been thinking the same thing, the setting as a whole could lend itself well to a lot of mediums
The sophons are a fun little race
look for the minority race that look like the Reverse of the sophons

With great power comes great irresponsibility, yeah. I like playing Sophons but thematically I'd put them somewhere in the middle. Carelessness and extreme curiosity driving invention but also leading to global disasters is a cool idea, but IMO they don't have much else going for them culturally, their story is kinda lackluster, and so on.
Going with the more fleshed out ES2 races only for me I'd put Cravers > Vodyani > Hissho > United Empire > and then maybe Sophons. Horatio is another race I could put in this slot in that they're "almost great" because they've got a really strong basic concept but don't take it far enough, or at least explore it deeply enough in the games.
