Actually the emigration trend is declining

2020-02-10 21:58:42 UTC

Some are starting to return

2020-02-10 21:59:03 UTC

And even without Schengen I doubt they wouldn't leave

2020-02-10 21:59:39 UTC

You keep saying that but i just disagree, there would be an incentive not to without free movement, so less would

2020-02-10 22:00:08 UTC

The incentive would still be there just with more paperwork

2020-02-10 22:00:25 UTC

Arguably some of the unskilled workers might have stayed

2020-02-10 22:00:44 UTC

But those aren't the ones which are critical for developing a country

2020-02-10 22:01:27 UTC

Their remittances probably also did a lot to grow Lithuania into the position where now people are startign to return

2020-02-10 22:02:14 UTC

Arguably the EU should've done more to grow their economy so there's less reason to move though

2020-02-10 22:02:30 UTC

so to the east of Germany and Austria

2020-02-10 22:03:19 UTC

I think there should be an industrial policy of tariffs and less primary sector subsidies to turn the more low waage areas of Europe into the workshop of Europe so to speak

2020-02-10 22:03:34 UTC

But they're not going to do that

2020-02-10 22:03:35 UTC

Instead of the whole importing cheap stuff from China shtick

2020-02-10 22:03:57 UTC

The EU actually supported steel tariffs at some point

2020-02-10 22:04:02 UTC

But Britain vetoed it

2020-02-10 22:04:13 UTC

And then complained about not having steel tariffs later

2020-02-10 22:04:31 UTC

the eternal strikes again

2020-02-10 22:04:47 UTC

50% of Germany's GDP is exports, they cannot allow the other countries to have their own high skill industries or they run out of places to send German produce

2020-02-10 22:06:40 UTC

Yes but we don't need to be very concerned about that
Germany focuses on medium sized quality manufacturers mainly, not lowering costs

2020-02-10 22:07:53 UTC

It's not Germany holding Europe back but free trade

2020-02-10 22:08:28 UTC

Which Germany requires

2020-02-10 22:08:52 UTC

If we did away with free trade German capital would actually be forced to buy slightly more expensive (but still cheaper than German stuff) things from eastern Europe fueling their growth instead of that of China

2020-02-10 22:09:10 UTC

Germany doesn't need free trade

2020-02-10 22:11:37 UTC

Quality exports don't depend on cheap imports

2020-02-10 22:13:34 UTC

If you watched all of Tim Pool's videos, you'd end up believing Trump was going to be unanimously elected God Emperor of the planet.

Damn, no one must be voting democrat now

2020-02-10 22:23:04 UTC

I'm so fucking tired of living around black people.

2020-02-10 22:24:22 UTC

For a time we had a bunch of African refugees in my city but apparently most refugees in general in the city got relocated to another place

2020-02-10 22:24:32 UTC

Was weird how they'd walk around in packs of 5

2020-02-10 22:25:38 UTC

I know your pain

2020-02-10 22:26:10 UTC

I'll just DM it

2020-02-10 22:26:50 UTC

I was just line at the grocery and some bitch used her kids to wait in two lines at once and pick the shortest one

2020-02-10 22:26:54 UTC

It's the little things

2020-02-10 22:27:07 UTC

It's the little things and the big things

2020-02-10 22:27:38 UTC

I have a strong dilemma, I kind of want to move but I don't really want to leave because my family has been here for so long

2020-02-10 22:27:45 UTC

I don't want to be chased out of my own homeland

2020-02-10 22:28:06 UTC

But sometimes I'm just like, fuck it

2020-02-10 22:28:26 UTC

At least in the lines those separating bars bars are one of the last forms of segregation still around

2020-02-10 22:30:10 UTC

What's the point anyway. There's no community left. The boomers have nothing to pass on to me. Just let em have it.....

2020-02-10 22:32:48 UTC

@Charlemagne I do advise people to move if they are unhappy where they are. If you're homeland means a lot to you, you could go to a different part of the same state. It's not really fleeing (which is what I did, TBH). It's investing you're effort somewhere that deserves it.

2020-02-10 22:33:21 UTC

Plan on moving eventually
