I think the argument is that the rebels and the ~~empire~~ first order are not exactly equals in terms of military strength. Losing a few fighters may be nothing to the first order, but it may mean a lot to the rebels, because they have far fewer resources and are fewer in number.

2018-01-12 09:41:02 UTC

So each loss needs matter.

2018-01-12 09:41:58 UTC

that much is obvious, however, there is a massively stupid reason behind it

2018-01-12 09:42:22 UTC

Yeah, it was still a bad scene, just not for those reasons is all I'm saying. lol

2018-01-12 09:42:24 UTC

that is what is left right after TFA

2018-01-12 09:42:36 UTC

how can they have the galaxy for 30 years and be taken out in one episode

2018-01-12 09:42:55 UTC

Which is one of the bigger issues I have with the movie, yeah.

2018-01-12 09:43:00 UTC

did they literally park their largest ships all at the same time on the 5 planets?

2018-01-12 09:43:18 UTC

then again this was a women's writing workshop script

2018-01-12 09:43:38 UTC

my point is.

2018-01-12 09:43:39 UTC

I was looking forward to seeing the republics retaliation against the first order and have an actual, you know... *war* take place, but nope, apparently all of the republic fleet was in orbit above those five planets. lol

2018-01-12 09:43:58 UTC

even if you have only 3 ships left, and the enemy has fifty, and your fighting to protect the galaxy.

2018-01-12 09:44:17 UTC

Destroying a heavy captial ship at the cost of a few bombers is a good pricei n a larger campain

2018-01-12 09:44:18 UTC

It's funny how they want to pull the 'women can lead too!' card in a movie where the good guys are getting absolutely pasted by the enemy.

2018-01-12 09:44:44 UTC

With repeated mistake after mistake, defeat after defeat.

2018-01-12 09:44:48 UTC

the good guys only lived becuase the entire concept of military and naval force was ignored\

2018-01-12 09:44:49 UTC

Talk about mixed messaging. kek

2018-01-12 09:44:52 UTC

they keep shitposting about their allies at the ends of the galaxy, but instead of taking a hyperspace lane to them they go to the salt planet

2018-01-12 09:45:00 UTC

because?

2018-01-12 09:45:02 UTC

Memes be upon him.

2018-01-12 09:45:06 UTC

its so stupid

2018-01-12 09:45:18 UTC

Actually...

2018-01-12 09:45:19 UTC

no

2018-01-12 09:45:29 UTC

they used subliminal drives to get to the salt plane5t

2018-01-12 09:45:31 UTC

planet*

2018-01-12 09:45:32 UTC

plus the hyperdrive kamikazi means that the mon calimari should have just an hero'd a droid into the emperor's chambers

2018-01-12 09:45:48 UTC

in ROJ

2018-01-12 09:45:54 UTC

no point in luke going there

2018-01-12 09:46:01 UTC

your not wrong

2018-01-12 09:46:11 UTC

the hysperspace attack thing is stupid for any number of reasons

2018-01-12 09:46:30 UTC

There is the TB reason that the ship and its target are in two diffrent states of matter

2018-01-12 09:46:43 UTC

its stupid becaue it retconned how it works and conflicts with the one time it was used in the books

2018-01-12 09:46:51 UTC

there is the mathematics of it just being impossible to line up a distant star and the two ships

2018-01-12 09:46:57 UTC

Exactly. Hyperspace is a separate dimension. The ship would not have crashed into the first order fleet, just gone through it.

2018-01-12 09:47:12 UTC

in the books IF you hyperdrive into something you will ruin the hyperspace lanes surrounding you

2018-01-12 09:47:14 UTC

also theres the laws of thermodynamics lol

2018-01-12 09:47:19 UTC

meaning they could never escape from salt land

2018-01-12 09:47:25 UTC

because the lane should be gone

2018-01-12 09:47:47 UTC

the entire TLJ was basicly like a bad fan fic someone wrotew

2018-01-12 09:47:59 UTC

Yeah, it's basically fanfiction.

2018-01-12 09:48:12 UTC

the actual canon of hyperspace was awesome originally
