Re: Facebook Creepiness
This is an anecdote that would be hard to verify. I was in Houston, with a flat tire at 2:00am. We wound up getting towed to a 24 hour tire shop. While there, we were told that we had to pay in cash, because they don't accept credit card. We were just thankful to get our tire fixed, but I made a suggestion to him.

After chatting with him for a while, I recommended that he consider getting a Square reader for his shop, so they can accept more forms of payment and turn less people down. He had never heard of such a thing as a credit card reader you can plug into your phone. Noone had told him this existed, or anything like that. He did however mention how he's suspicious of technology as well, and thought that it might be a liability, but that it was something that he'd look in to.

Sure enough, he walks away, checks his Facebook app, and finds, front and center, an ad he'd never seen before. It was an ad for Square Readers. He came back over, showed me the ad, and told me that Facebook, in fact, creeps him out a bit. I was creeped out too. But to the point, They couldn't have utilized a location report or anything like that off of my phone. Despite the fact that I've had conversations with people before about Square Readers, I do not have the Facebook Messenger app. I've always refused to download it. There should have been no way that Facebook would know that we talked, unless it actively listened to conversations for keywords about sponsors. Maybe they don't log every word you say, even, but I think it's entirely possible that they utilize an 'OK Google' styled system that listens for keywords. There's little other explanation for how this happened.

Also, this incident made him not only suspicious of Facebook, but of Square as well, so this advertising undermined word of mouth advertising.

Sadly most people will not care. Being able to gossip out ways the creepiness for most.

So i was talking to the news media today about corey feldman. i happened to walk by the intersection and saw a few vans so i walked over to talk to them. I didn't know about the 'stabbing' yet. nothing that interesting but i also ran into them again when i took a walk by the police station

In a bid to bring black students to science, this high school will offer Africentric math

To calculate the moves for conjuring lightning I bet

2018-03-29 10:28:02 UTC

Yes, because people can not learn unless everything is taught to them through a cultural lens.

@Dr.Wol are you saying that witch doctors don’t use calculus when casting their spells or making their potions? 😉

2018-03-29 16:48:17 UTC

i'm sure they can apply excellent levels on their spells and potions,

But it will have as much use as me pissing in a toilet to make jetski's fly

2018-03-29 18:16:02 UTC

lol

Tim mentioned Remington in his video but didn't mention that Remington's quality has been going to shit for a while now

2018-03-29 20:16:12 UTC

damn shame, was hoping to pick up a remington model 700 too

2018-03-29 20:41:51 UTC

I wonder if gun manufacturers are taking a hit from people making guns at home to exploit some loopholes in some gun control

2018-03-29 20:45:47 UTC

I really want to purchase a firearm now for some reason.

2018-03-29 21:13:33 UTC

do it

2018-03-29 21:13:51 UTC

don't waste the cash on an R700

2018-03-29 21:14:06 UTC

You can buy clones, or buy something with a better platform

2018-03-29 21:14:33 UTC

Accurizing R700's is not really a super easy thing to do

2018-03-29 21:14:51 UTC

things about it are picky

2018-03-29 21:17:58 UTC

Savage 10's are fucking wonderful; tikka if you wanna pay a bit more, or sako if you want to pay a lot more and have something pretty.

2018-03-29 21:18:45 UTC

I would say the savage rifles are probably the best choice overall; if you need mods there are plenty of barrels that you can acquire

2018-03-29 21:19:30 UTC

remington has been total shit up the wazoo; missing major things, half-assing finishes

2018-03-29 21:20:22 UTC

Some FFL ordered a 870 and when he acquired it the finish in the bolt looked like someone had taken a large metal file and scraped it all through

2018-03-29 21:42:32 UTC

Playing hell march overlayed on tim's vidya is wonderful

2018-03-29 22:20:32 UTC

Why aren't we doing this to foreigners?

2018-03-29 22:38:41 UTC

Because if America did that we'd have gone extinct during the Great Depression

2018-03-29 22:40:19 UTC

why don't we just kill all the poor people? that'll solve poverty

South African Judge Says Rape Is a Part of Black Culture in Exposed Facebook Conversation

2018-03-30 10:13:32 UTC

That article doesn't get the point across that you think it does. Do you read this shit, or do you just repost headlines?

2018-03-30 12:32:57 UTC

time is precious, gotta stick to the headlines yo

2018-03-30 13:45:13 UTC

i get a feeling if a lot more people read more than just headlines, there'd be less extremists

2018-03-30 20:03:16 UTC

Has Tim pool mentioned he’s mixed race yet

2018-03-30 20:15:18 UTC

He also used to work at Vice, or so I've heard.

2018-03-30 22:09:30 UTC

i wonder if some kind of contractual provisions shouldent be put into place in the united states in order to protect against organized boycotting used as a method to influince advertisments that support entertainment and journalistic industrys. though it would probably not be easy enough to argue that advertisers leaving a service did so due to this cause. maybe the problem is just how easy it is for advertisers to pull out of anything like contracts themselves are basicly meaningless.

2018-03-30 22:11:17 UTC

it seems to me to be a big problem right now, that out of all things to boycot people for what 99% of it seems to have been in the last 20 years is because someone said something other people dont agree with. back in the day boycotting use to be a form of public regulation on ethical standards of bussinesses
