Is to level the playing field against someone that has more in his arsenal

say you're a scrawny asian woman of 4 ft 5, weighing like 50 kilos
and some 6 ft guy with well over 90 kilos wants to rob you

or someone who has a gun and you're in a locked down area so you can't escape
