For those who are beyond helping, all that can be done is to minimize the harm they can do to society.

There are always going to be people who are too mentally ill, too extreme in personality, or too far gone to drug addiction to become functioning members of society.

I've got no sources to this, most of what I've heard is by word of mouth, but the large majority of it has been from former addicts

every single one of them states that AA is pretty much designed to make sure they go right back in there

do their member actually pay for that service? or is it free?

the problem with using tax money is that you will fund or help subsidize someones drug habit, at least of a little while. Thats just necessary during the time they try to get sober IF they try to get sober. That is not going to be popular with a lot of tax payers.

so your only choice is either not give to shits, and let the local government piss away money at the problem and not do anything, or let citizens who want to help and have the means, do what they want to help.

sure, there are shit organizations out there, but the local government has 0 incentive to help them out of homelessness. They just want them gone and it would be cheaper to higher a few more officers to beat them out of the city, then try and help them.

its interesting, hes a very sympathetic character though he also thinks innitally many things i dont nessicarly agree with, but you also see him change a bit becoming more tolerent to other people while still trying to maintain what he things is the right way to be. i think this series could be very drama filled with lots of characters sort of having conflicts with eachother and i kind of hope it doesent end up that way but its still at a point im interested in seeing how everyone develops consitering the setup
