I am hoping a decentralized solution like Bitchute will gain traction, but of course the problem with any alternative is that it will attract those wronged by the existing platforms as its first users, and those people tend to fall so outside the norm that it turns users away from it
While I’m sure none of us here care that the front page has conspiracy videos and shit, those who unironically watch Logan Paul and makeup channels won’t get content, and sadly that is actually what makes up a lot of YouTube viewership
And no commercial usage because of it either

those kind of viewers should have always stayed on TV
I want to be fine with having one highly policed main platform and one lesser known but more free alternative, but that doesn’t really help if you actually want to spread alternative ideas

YouTube doesn’t care about standards, not really. All they care about is PR and making money. The little guy is irrelevant but the big corporate sponsors are what matters.
