But that means using scientific methodology
I am quite interested how will the historians tackle this era in the future.
If they will just use legacy media like they do for 50s it will be quite different view then if they use internet sources
Maybe Tim could make some larger documentary about all this
Starting with gamergate and going over all the important happenings since then
Otherwise ppl will not realy understand what went down in the future
anyone have a source for jordan peterson explaining when the right goes to far?
Ive seen him say that we know when they do
but has he defined when they do?
he generally just asks the question
he talked about it in that munk debate
he tells that the right goes to far when it goes after people for things other members of their race/cathegory did
does anyone have any links to stories about evergreen giving activists jobs
it is meantioned in this debate
the JBP question
where in the debate however i am unsure
there found the exact time where he mentiones it
should save you around 30 minutes lmao
One thing to keep in mind with JBP and the right wing is that he's a Canadian, and Canada has an extremely weak right wing.
Him having to comment on the right 'going too far' is probably not something that happens often in Canada, simply because there isn't much of a right wing to begin with, and the overton window in Canada is so far to the left that they can't say or do anything that would seem 'too far' from an American perspective.
hes taught a lot of classes focusing on nazism and its rise
Like in Canada saying "a country should have borders" is considered extreme right wing.
oh another old tweet... more relevant to recent events... https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/464217937516040193?s=20
Or "people should be able to choose the kind of healthcare they receive".
In the US saying "a marriage is a union between a man and a woman" is non-controversial. In Canada it's not an idle question as to whether you could face arrest for saying that.
So Jordan Peterson is probably concerned about the right wing going too far in the same way a Bedouin is concerned about drowning.
the classes are all up on youtube, a lot of people cut them up into smaller bits, but you can listen to them for the most part in whole
Canada has a border with the US so the benefits are probably not as obvious as when you have a shitty neighbor.
JBP is very well informed about totalitarian states, especially of the 20th century
when he asks when the right goes to far, it prolly is in regard of that
not canadian politics
I remember him talking about Hitler's table talks and how conservatives are more sensitive to disgust than liberals. If he ever commented about what it looks like when the right wing takes things too far it would probably involve some of the same points.
Basically a cleaning/ordering response going out of control and being applied to tribal groups.
But Peterson has often said that people of with the underlying personality profiles that correlate to liberal and conservative need each other in order to build robust and functional institutions.
An organization dominated by people with conservative personality traits will stagnate, and become rigid and inflexible. Eventually it will fail to adapt to changing circumstances and collapse, or self-destruct through purity spiralling.
hes a enlightened alt centrist
