i can imagine "severety of rape" is a normal distribution bell curve, and "severety of murder" is a normal distribution bell curve, and that the severety of murder median is more to the right then the severety of rape median

but that there is overlap and there would be cases where any random rape picked could be worse then any random murder picked

horizontal would be severety, vertical would be number of cases (rapes/murders)

Yes but regardless of severity, murder is well defined from start to finish, rape is a grey area at one end and defined at the other end

i dono i think you can debate if someone is murdered

They are in different categories and can't reasonably be compared in any way

as per religion morality of cristianity for example, lethal injection for terminal and suffering patients would be murder by the injector

where other ethics it wouldnt be

A bloke kills the man that raped his daughter and the film is about his court case and whether he had the right to.

then again, in my bell curve example, that might count as a very unsevere murder

i wouldnt care tbh, id kill him and try to get out of it

its my passion verses my morals in that case

and i always fermly believe that i use my brain to get where my heart wants me to go, with open eyes and ears ofcourse

I don't think most people would say it's right, but I think most people would have thoughts about doing it anyway. And in this day and age they would talk themselves out of it

so i might be wrong, but i think in that situation my heart would ache so much it would override my brains

UK has a social justice system, not a justice system

its always a question if its justice, as the appropriate punishment from the victims (relatives) perspective is not the best long term solution for the state

Thats half my point. I wouldn't kill someone if they robbed me but I would kill someone if raped the right person same aas I would if they killed the right person.

like, its pretty clear that long prison sentences without counceling etc etc dont work well for the perp, it tends not to reform him, where shorter heavily guided sentences do

but those are not just in the eyes of the victims
