but it's hard to comprehend a legal structure that would make that enforceable in a realistic way.
Unless I'm drunk, then I REALLY agree with myself.
In my mind: fund parties with tax money based on voting results and voter turnout, all policy proposals must be transparent to the average voters in what they do, why they do it and who proposed it
Already a problem with that.
I know
Tax dollars going directly to political parties.
That cements the current political structure.
We've had political parties die and be replaced in the past
nobody runs as a whig anymore.
If you have to get elected to get funding, and you have to get funding to get publicity...
I mean, unless you're getting joke coverage like the Rent Is Too Damn High Party.
Could factor party membership in as a) legal income for the party and b) a measure for how mich you get
That seems to assume people are voting straight ticket
Elections are a little more complicated than that.
Make political parties illigal.
Ban them.
Only vote for a person not a party.
I would be okay with that.
but still not enforcable.
And possibly unconstitutional.
I have not thought out every detail in the last 5-10 minutes 😁
Right to peaceably assemble and all
😛
Totally unconstitutional.
Oh, I believe that, Falko 😛
How would they get funding for election? US is a vast country, no national tv to be obligated to show their program...
Freedom of association yeah.
I don't see a third party ever working
But no, getting push back is the only way to refine an idea into something that works in the real world.
I do see party evolution though
Actively seeing the republican party turning libertarian
Bring back the bull moose party for a better America!
The american political system is probably one of the worst anyway... only good thing is the term limit for the president 😁
returning to libertarian you mean
See, there you're on to something.
(Yes i am hyperbolic)
Term Limits. Term limits everywhere!
you guys have rly strange election system btw... registration, voting without id, preselected candidate that get all funding even if same party
The political system is fine in my opinion. honestly, I think our voting system is awful.
voting is first amendment so you can't force it
