The churches are being consistent with Christ's teachings. On the question of "what would Jesus do", His actions are pretty clear in the New Testament.
We can and do disregard that truth for our own mortal reasons, Lord knows I'm not perfect, but that doesn't change how Jesus spoke and acted.
And therefore the goals the churches aspire to.
And before you castigate me, remember that I am pro border security. That said, I am also pro generous legal (vetted) immigration and pro foreign aid especially where it promotes our goals like countering China's imperialism or preventing mass migration at the source.
I can agree with all those sentiments. I'm still a bit worried about legal immigration, but I have absolutely no issue with legal immigration philosophically. I have coworkers in that category, and I'm glad they're in the country. If anything, foreigners coming to america know firsthand how blessed this nation is. Look at all these ANTIFA activists. How many of them are young white people who have no idea how life is outside the nation?
