e.g. "Vengeance is mine"
So adherents arent weak as you say, they just reccognize that they do not always have authority to act in judgment
Yes, now please tell me how story of Noah and Revelation fit in because between them there are some 800 more pages of Bible
This is markedly different from Wahabist/Salafist muslims
Of all books of New Testament, Revelation has to be probably the dumbest, the least creative and least inspiring
Bunch of mashed up threats of old variety, namely grasshopers mosquitoes, famine, death and misery
It is quite simple.
There have been judgments against the enemies of God and his human followers where his human followers delivered judgment. (Joshua, David and others)
And then there are other judgments not delegated to them (Sodom and Gomorrrah, the flood, Armageddon)
Yes, judgements of Jewish god Yahweh against other people because they, well, existed
But you need to understand the audience it was targeting, it was written by a Jew primarily for Jews
"Judgements" were nothing but carefully planned military conquests, which apparently fit greatly with Gospel of John eh ?
Jew who would have been familiar with the Egyptian plagues that liberated their ancestors in Eqypt for instance...
what the fuck did i just read
not all this but
that quote
omg
wtf
So, 3 millions jews running from a murderous and militarily superior Egyptian force wanting them to re-enter servitude as slaves was a carefully planned military conquest?
you can't @ everyone?
@MrGoat you mean me?
@ShadowKhukuri do you even realise how uncoherent that story is. Were they let go by Egyptians or not ? If yes, why would they chase. If they were not let go, but booted out, why would anybody chase them ? And if they claim they escaped, why on earth would they invent the whole story of 7 plagues ?
HELLO @everyone I HAVE AIDS
@diversity_is_racism sorry to hear 😦
@ShadowKhukuri The story how Egyptians suddenly out of no good reason decided to chase them is the most half-splittingly laughable attempt to fit the narrative with real historical context
Because obviously, people at the time knew much better what actually happened
Don't stand in front of me if you're getting shot at. I don't want to be the secondary victim and also get AIDS from an AIDS bullet.
congratulatons Brett, spread it to everyone who agrees with our worldview
@The Enlightened Shepherd , their leader was a god king who didn't exactly have a record of being rational and consistent...I am not surprised that under his rule his military behaved in like fashion.
If they escaped, were chased, and made up the plague story, perhaps it was to convince people it would be a bad idea to make them slaves, or they'll get plagued too?
@ShadowKhukuri Nobody knows who the Ruler was at the time. Exodus does not mention his name
@ShadowKhukuri The only thing we know for sure was that Egypt was quite developed compared to Palestine, and that it was a patriotic, secluded society
@The Enlightened Shepherd
That is interesting that you say that...
Because a real named person said the following in the scriptures...
Joshua 2:8-11New International Version (NIV)
8 Before the spies lay down for the night, she went up on the roof 9 and said to them, “I know that the Lord has given you this land and that a great fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you. 10 We have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea[a] for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan, whom you completely destroyed.[b] 11 When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below.
AAhhhh the noble Joshua !
Rahab the prostitute who housed the Jewish spies...
We know she is real (as best as we can) because she is an ancestor of King David
Nice and stereotypical megalomania on his part there
let me bring some more treasure from that vile preacher
and 2) How on earth could she know about the Egyptians and their fate in advance of the spies coming unless it were true
She said "all who live in this country are in fear of you"
so, just because we don't know the name of that god king/pharaoh of egypt, doesn't mean what happened in the Exodus was false.
