Eric Clanton committed assault with a deadly weapon with a lot of added things due to it being a bike lock. A long with that, one could argue from the way he struck, it was situated to maim or kill. Thats a lot different friend.
To be fair, in my incident, I defended myself with a bike lock. I worked as a bike courier, and I practiced with one just in case. They're capable of some serious damage.
Exactly, that would be an incident where self-defense would come into play if you didnt have an immediate way out. But moving through a crowd to strike someone is just assault. Often times, courts will forgive the use of a weapon in certain circumstances and may just decrease something to assault if it cant be argued to be in self defense.
Unless you live in a certain state, then you had no need to run and could just kill the man really.
I know about that, I disagree with it.
That's a case of a crooked jurisdiction.
There's a reason I bailed on Washington DC. Even though I miss it, I don't feel safe there, on a corruption level.
The police never really bothered to try to look for the 'youths' that attacked me.
And if they did, it would've been 'Simple Assault', so they don't have to report the statistics.
People were I live fear the ATF because they will try you in a court which gets all of its jury from the inner city.
even though it was a case of about 14 kids surrounding me, trying to play the knockout game.
Yeah, thats terrible dude.
God i'm happy I dont live in the city.
Ruined the pizza I was delivering at the time, too.
On Christmas Eve of all nights.

Personally, I keep a flail in my car. Study HEMA so i'm good with a lot of simple things like pipes as well if it comes down to it. I should get a bikelock really.
The trick that Eric didn't seem to get about using a bike lock as an improvised weapon is that if you twist your wrist at the last second, you can really amplify the force.
If you force it to swing.
Exactly, same method with maces.
Reason why blunt objects with such handles are very dangerous when striking the top of the head.
The great thing is, nobody looks at you twice if you've got a bike lock in the city.
Also why people stopped using flat helmets in medieval times.

is this another failed f76 merch ?
Bruh. I already said I worked as a bike courier.
it looks plastic to me ๐
And no, that's a Chrome messenger bag. My old one. My newer one wasn't within reach like my Old reliable bike lock is.
Cross posting from debate....
Tims getting bludgeoned in the comments on his video for the GoFundMe wall campaign, mostly for citing Buzzfeed. All I've read are uncompelling stances against buzzfeed as whole, or stating the alternative non-profit intriduction doesn't qualify as grounds for modifying the original campaign terms. No one seems to want to engage any other substantive details.
thats because it's Buzzfeed
i.e. the terms state that a goal of $1bn has to be met to secure all donors contributions be petitioned for actual border efforts. It's still only at $20mn, way short of any campaign goal that would distribute any portion anywhere else other than the GoFundMe holding position
All of the instances addressed in the buzzfeed article are sound and valid in and ofthemselves, though...,
