Now that is fascinating
Its a summary, but a badly compiled one in your opinion?
Well people dont have the time.
Extremely badly in a sense
If it was to at least explain what it means with a lot of shit, it needs at least 3 a4 pages on each thing
Otherwise you could draw a very weird conclusion compared to the literature
For example: We (communists) want to abolish the family. Now, we do not want to abolish it to remover families altogether, what we want to abolish is the family you (the bourgeois) know of.
People take that out of it's context considering it's time and try to apply it in today, in which case they get the impression that here should be no homeschooling and society is the parents
Read other literature where they, Marx and Engels, talk about the family and what they want to change, they explain some fundamental differences between the working classes families and the bourgeois families
Thats the issue if it takes thousands of pages.
TO come to one conclusion
And then crush it down to double digits
and in short, most the points are that the labourers kids should have equall opportunity as the bourgeois kids
Yes
And considering that time period, the summary I gave wouldn't work
Then how did it become what it is now?
People forget that a different time period must be considered not only as to why something was worded the way it was, but also why it wasn't worded in a, in our time, better way
How the hell did it turn from empowering the worker to subjugating the population
As you said, ppl are lazy and just read the manifesto
And then someone on top realises if he cherry picks pages from Das Kapital he can get ppl on his side to help him get more power
Jesus its like the koran
I've met communists that are like "I have only read some parts of Das Kapital" and coincidentally it os the parts in which the state is the hero and the companies are evil. Never a single part that praises parts of capitalism
Or that distinguishes percieved capitalism from actual capitalism
He does explain how the free market, on the contrary to how it is percieved, is separate from capitalism
Have you heard of a commie that is part of a big commie group ever say anything like that?
They are always against the free market because it is capitalistic (in a russian accent)
Ive never met a commie like that. You know, one that knows that much. But then again, Im not gonna pretend I read Marx's work
You consider me a commie?
I didnt say that
Like I said I never met a commie that knows that much.
Much like I never met a christian who knows the bible beyond memorizing verses
Oh, ok
Just checking
The people I find more knowledgable on relligion ive met are people who dont practice it as much
I would probably consider myself a Marxist if it wasn't for those that already do. Don't wanna be associated with those shets
As they are more likely to question it
And Id considermyself ancap if it wernt for those who already do
I'd say I am a decentralist
To be honest, govt seizing the means of production does not scream decentralization
I know
The reason real communisms haven't existed is because there has always been a state. They want to rid of the state
But so called communists want to first make the state own EVERYTHING, and then rid of the state. Good luck making someone with all that power give it up
