I swear I read an article once about Vox or Slate or Huffpo demonizing archive links specifically for the reason you mentioned
Vox NPCs?
@Cѳςmѳиαцt i wouldnt exactly blame them on that
sure
so far as that Vox article, i do think it has some sort of merit
even in chats like this i don't see a lot of people changing minds, i usually only see a little bit of development over internet when people VC as there is something disarming about actually seeing, or talking to another person
short form 300 character tweets only gives enough room to re enforce baises most of the time, there isn't a lot of room for sympathizing with someone, its very fight-club ish
It was 140 before
I go to vox for their milder stuff like the border series, really enjoyed their presentation of Hong Kong where I came from
Just skip the ezra Klein stuff
i'd totally agree with wanting people to engage eachother rather then living in a echo chamber, just from past experience on long running (5 years or so now) even in paragraphs usually people don't start seeing eachothers side until like a 30 minutes or a hour into it, and in some cases flat at won't reach any grounds unless they VC. Twitter is like the opposite of that, funny enough so is 4chan but 4chan knows its full of shit and is just there for enjoyment 99% of the time not anything serious like what Twitter pretends it is
I mean, yes, dialogue is an important part of any society, especially one with democratic elements, but ultimately a disagreement might just boil down to irreconcilable axioms, and people can't agree.
At that point, the only real solution is tolerance or destruction.
Some differences cant be reconciled, that's why we come up with games like election. I call it a game because.... that's really what it is.
What does the text on bottom mean?
Oh rip
some people are claiming that the cnn image was a 4chan fake
seems doubtful to me
Jim Acosta (@Acosta) Tweeted:
Photos of the bomb and package sent to CNN https://t.co/nBq3ArtChJ https://twitter.com/Acosta/status/1055147149158219778?s=17
he's either a moron or believes it is not real
how do you take a picture un-casually
so all "bombs" were casually found and none exploded ? what are they - professional bomb handlers or just lucky ? this is weird...
some pictures have professional intent, this one it's like he walked by and snapped a pic
/pol/ is turning this pic into a meme. it's great.
<https://i.4cdn.org/pol/1540415798171.jpg> i'm dying
rip
even though ISIS was never involved they'll still get involved somehow
maybe
are they even still active
in libya and a small section of land that has no strategic value in syria's eastern border
wasn't an isis flag
so larry the cable guy was behind this
fucking based trump.
it doesn't look like either flag to me the center of the sticker seems off like it was placed on top of the the original sticker or the pic was doctored with photoshop or something
So these things were intercepted before leaving the original receiving post office?
