We need a colloseum to let people vent on each other

2018-11-11 20:04:30 UTC

In reality, a civil war would either be instigated by institutionalized corporate democrats or radical democratic socialists. Either way the republicans and nationalists would win any conflict even if going against the state due to mutiny from the military if the government.

2018-11-11 20:04:34 UTC

I've wanted a colloseum for a while now

2018-11-11 20:04:58 UTC

I don't know about that, but I believe dueling should be legalized again.

Imagine how better gang violence would be if Jamal could legally confront Tyrone in a duel?

2018-11-11 20:06:49 UTC

I would still say that duels shouldn't be to the death but to first blood, but even then I believe it would be a beneficial way to resolve heated conflicts that couldn't be resolved otherwise.

What is this nonsense about letting non-citizens vote?

2018-11-12 00:50:16 UTC

Might as well let Russia send in absentee ballots.

2018-11-12 01:20:27 UTC

Non-citizens cannot vote for any state or federal position in the US

2018-11-12 01:20:30 UTC

period

2018-11-12 01:29:52 UTC

They didn't count it but. Why was it even a question? Especially for lawyers.

2018-11-12 01:30:35 UTC

DNC needs votes and they will take what ever votes they can get, be it from Mexico, Russian, or the Afterlife

2018-11-12 01:31:43 UTC

Start submitting ballots for dead people. When you get caught, "It's what (s)he would have wanted."

2018-11-12 01:31:52 UTC

I have no idea of what the lawyers knew at the time. It is possible they were just objecting until it could be confirmed that the person was a not citizen. Also, that non-citizen should be prosecuted.

2018-11-12 01:32:28 UTC

Yeah article doesn't state the exact words they used

2018-11-12 01:32:51 UTC

Anyone completing a ballot for someone else, unless they are directly assisting a handicapped person and only applying that person's will, should be prosecuted

2018-11-12 01:33:29 UTC

Anyone unduly influencing a voter (i.e coercion or intimidation) should be prosecuted

2018-11-12 01:33:50 UTC

We need to maintain the sanctity of the vote or we really are lost.

2018-11-12 01:34:36 UTC

We all must recognise that we are divided on a knife's edge. Close elections will be the norm.

But it's so easy to make the allegation that people avoid doing it to avoid appearing as if they are using the law to attack their opposition.

2018-11-12 01:35:41 UTC

I agree wholeheartedly, but it's one of those things where you have to be very careful. I'm guessing this is how Snipes got away with everything for so long.

2018-11-12 01:36:12 UTC

I work in a business and we have policies for a reason.

2018-11-12 01:36:30 UTC

You develop good policies before they are needed and you follow them religiously when they are needed.

2018-11-12 01:37:32 UTC

Elections offices need to be religious about transparency. I have always voted in extremely transparent counties.

2018-11-12 01:38:57 UTC

I can go on the internet and see exactly where and when my ballot was received and validated.

2018-11-12 01:39:24 UTC

My Ballot:
November 6, 2018 General Election
Your ballot was received on October 26, 2018.

2018-11-12 01:39:58 UTC

In vote-by-mail they can link every counted ballot to a voter

2018-11-12 01:40:05 UTC

And it's all public record

2018-11-12 01:40:22 UTC

Should ballots be anonymous?

2018-11-12 01:40:30 UTC

My votes were anonymous

2018-11-12 01:40:36 UTC

But my ballot was not

2018-11-12 01:40:49 UTC

Voting is public record in Oregon

2018-11-12 01:41:26 UTC

You shouldn't know who cast the vote but every ballot should be tracked. Kinda like UPS tracking number.

2018-11-12 01:42:00 UTC

It's basically high end Quality Assurance.

2018-11-12 01:42:27 UTC

If your ballot has a name on it so does your votes. We don't have names on our ballots. You are validated at the door, then the ballots are checked for completion. But never is there a name on a ballot.

2018-11-12 01:43:14 UTC

Not saying that system is good, but it's anonymous. At least as close as you get.

2018-11-12 01:44:29 UTC

Ballots and envelopes are separated by a committee, never less than three people present

2018-11-12 01:44:45 UTC

a lot of this problem is coming from early and absentee voting. votes cast in person on election day are hard to tamper with.
