quite

2019-01-09 11:01:35 UTC

but i'm talking more about having no physical means of exchanging currency

2019-01-09 11:02:03 UTC

makes it far far easier to control individuals

2019-01-09 11:03:29 UTC

Doesn't make it much easier than central banking already does. The only "commodity" tied to money now is governments with guns.

2019-01-09 11:06:30 UTC

Everything is money though. If people start trading with some other currency government can't control, then their power to control people will be reduced to almost nothing. If no one is using their currency, their currency is worthless, so they can hardly buy guns and soldiers to protect themselves.

2019-01-09 11:06:57 UTC

omg

2019-01-09 11:07:20 UTC

so if we all just agreed to use something that can't be made anymore

2019-01-09 11:07:22 UTC

or super rare

2019-01-09 11:07:24 UTC

then

2019-01-09 11:07:25 UTC

lie

Denationalization of money is effectively the denationalization of government.

2019-01-09 11:10:09 UTC

Although they could just start seizing real assets at that point to sustain themselves. You used to be able to pay taxes in tobacco.

2019-01-09 11:10:28 UTC

you used to get paid in salt

2019-01-09 11:10:42 UTC

now it's just constantly generated by political activists

2019-01-09 11:33:12 UTC
2019-01-09 11:50:36 UTC

USD will always have value

2019-01-09 11:50:50 UTC

It’s really the only valid payment for taxes

2019-01-09 11:51:09 UTC

So crypto all day everyday but if you are caught avoiding taxes rub roh

2019-01-09 13:43:37 UTC

Google just want to be Skynet.

2019-01-09 13:44:14 UTC

Skynet is still better than Google

2019-01-09 14:04:11 UTC

I can't let you do that, Alexa.

Matt's take on the new House and AOC 60 Minutes

2019-01-09 15:31:15 UTC

Is it just me or does mr. Cooper look annoyed?

2019-01-09 20:13:54 UTC

Yeah, he seems kinda skeptical.

2019-01-09 20:18:07 UTC

...wich leads me to my theory that AOC will burn out and never be president

2019-01-09 20:19:32 UTC

I admire her optimistic outlook, but girlfriend needs to gather some specifics. People want a plan as to how to achieve these grandiose visions.

2019-01-09 20:19:35 UTC

I think Matt is conflating average tax rates with marginal tax rates.

2019-01-09 20:27:07 UTC

not really. the more money you make the less important the lower brackets become for you.

2019-01-09 22:07:16 UTC

How much would democrats agree to if Trump tied his resignation to it?

2019-01-09 22:07:57 UTC

"No deal unless Pence resigns too."

2019-01-09 22:08:17 UTC

Pence is a bigger problem for them than Trump

2019-01-09 22:08:42 UTC

Yes/no

2019-01-09 22:09:00 UTC

Trump is a center left moderate.

2019-01-09 22:09:09 UTC

For them yes, for support to their base no
