i'm waiting for the day Discord folds and removes the white skin color emoji option because oppression 👌🏻
Emoji is japanese in origin, right?
They never consort with social justice, god bless em
origin doesnt matter
it's not like "emoji" is a company, Discord is and they have emojis, and they're based in San Francisco...
lul
So its cultural appropriation
how appropriate they never complain about their own
hecc
hey so i had a question that i dont trust anything to search for the answer to
*what* are these uh... "midterms" all about
Pretty much a mid year election. Not as big as the current election cycle.
Still has its uses and is still rather important.
i only started getting into politics like a year ago and i still don't really know anything about regular practices of the U.S. government.
You know enough about the electoral collage?
Or the difference between EC and Popular vote?
YOu know about gerry mandering, or how seats are allocated.
Which Id say EC is the important part to know about how the election works
Vs popular vote.
i'm taking polisci 101 in 18 days so
ok
Political elections in the US are on a rotating schedule
Presidents are every 4 years
ye i got that bit
Congressional elections are every two years
>_>
hm
With certain members of the house and senate being up for relection
Midterm elections are important becuase they usually reflect how the public feels about the president's party
Or so states standard political theory
most of the time the presidents party loses some seats as people are pissed at him for one reason or another
The "Blue Wave" youve probably heard about is the democractic party campagining to get people involved for the midterm elections in 2018
i can like
lie no problem to my family about who i voted for for congress right
>__>
I doubt theyll ask
my mom likely will
