@Timcast After watching the last video you posted I really think you should look into Gamergate. I know you said you gave up on it, but I really think an important mile stone in the development of the culture war.
What caused him to stop looking into it?
I think he was in Ferguson when it started and he had bigger fish to fry.
Also it was a fairly niche bit of drama to start out with that spiraled into something else, and it's probably kind of hard to figure out without having followed it
Also theres pleanty of other people looking into it
But to be honest.... ones a gaming related culture war with lots of individuals involved each with their own thoughts a belifes on what actually happened.
The other is a bunch of people throwing shitfits
@da britian He just doesn't have the time i think. It's reasonable.
Makes sense considering his output of content.
Yeah he was in Ferguson just before gamergate happened, and it looks like he continued reporting on it.
I found a few videos of him reporting on it on Fusion.
@GingaBomber I have no doubt your right. I watched it evolve from day one.
I saw the "five guys" videos from internet aristocrat and then the "gamers are dead" stuff shortly there after.
I probably have put a greater value on it than it deserves because of my closeness to it.
I feel sorry for people who are trying to understand what happened in retrospect, because thing have only gotten more & more fuzzier since time has gone on.
Who could have known that a movement which is critical of the media gets smeared by the media? Just shows what happens when the marginalized try to speak truth the power smh my head tbqh
I would be interested to see a factual neutral history of gamergate for those who missed it. The event certainly pushed thousands who were previously apolitical to suddenly care about many issues. On the other hand I don’t really know if the specifics are that important.
We had conversations last month about how gamergate awaken alot of our political consciousness
Gamergate just made me more active. I've always had political consciousness
Too be honest. For me its I dont trust the media now. Being uninformed is better than bein misinformed

well you could be aware of the narrative while not necessarily believing it, but it makes me unhappy listening to nonsense, unless it's so stupid it's funny
I realized CNN was full of shit when that one black guy suggest the missing Malaysian airliner was sucked away via black hole
This was back in high school
Holy shit I'm old
i saw a segment on morning tv once, where they had a guy to talk about how wheat makes you weaker, and i kid you not, he made that con artist trick where you tell a person to stick out their arm and then you push it down, and then he told them to eat some bread, and then he pushed down the arm in an angle which is easier, to show that bread makes you weak, within seconds, and everyone was acting seriously
that con artist trick has been featured on scam school
i saw no indication of it being a joke, i saw no outrage in the news later, nothing
I dont think a 24 hours news channel was a good idea
They run out of good content early on and have to fill the rest with junk
Funny thing about gamergate for me is I already understood how corrupt gaming journalism t & reviewers by them being a bit too mutually comfortable with gaming companies they were & were not unwilling to criticize them too much for being poor or bad games, as well as occasionally sneaking in some favors on the side, but everything changed for me when they became "anti-gamer" & gaming.
Well they already say they dont like the people consuming their content.
they also said many times they don't even like to play games
Gamergate exposed the "journalist and their friends" cabals
Nobody who saw that took the press seriously after that
who saw that and was unbiased
the left still takes them seriously cuz they are partizan on it
I dont know. Even lefties dont trust the "gamer press"
Most ppl just ignores reviews altogather
And look for feedback on social media
