nobody agrees

2018-08-30 23:17:30 UTC

I don't see any options better than Trump. He has done more than any president in my history and I am 33 years old.

2018-08-30 23:17:35 UTC

Mark, I don't think we will see democrats and republicans working together again for some time

2018-08-30 23:17:41 UTC

Mark, not more so than now

2018-08-30 23:17:59 UTC

I'm all for Republicans having control under Trump.

2018-08-30 23:18:12 UTC

They been keeping their campaign promises and working hard to completing them. That is why I like this administration so far. They are also removing harmful policies put in place by Democrats and Rino republicans.

2018-08-30 23:19:12 UTC

Mark, I'm not a USian - but I dunno - trump is okay - certainly I can't stand the democrats

2018-08-30 23:20:12 UTC

@xaivei dems not blocking Trump judges seems weird to me

2018-08-30 23:20:29 UTC

Atkins yeah they don't really care - they would get confirmed eventually

2018-08-30 23:20:38 UTC

Atkins, I think they can just delay, not block indefinately

2018-08-30 23:20:40 UTC

but not 100%

2018-08-30 23:20:48 UTC

The dems have been wielding SO MUCH power through federal judges that just giving up those positions without a fight makes my spidey sense tingle.

2018-08-30 23:20:54 UTC

I'm pretty sure they have no power to block Kavenaugh

2018-08-30 23:21:21 UTC

They don't, but they can drag out the process for a long time.

2018-08-30 23:21:29 UTC

Long enough for more injunctions, etc.

2018-08-30 23:21:50 UTC

Democrats are power hungry.

2018-08-30 23:21:55 UTC

Like look how much power they were able to wield through blocking Trump's travel bans and policy changes on the border.

2018-08-30 23:21:55 UTC

They don't care about the citizens.

2018-08-30 23:21:56 UTC

Atkins - not that sure they can do it for Kavenaugh - if republicans have the votes I think they can confirm - like they did with Gorsuch - but again not 100%

2018-08-30 23:22:01 UTC

Trying too hard to drag out confirmations will just get Senate rules overturned.

2018-08-30 23:22:14 UTC

Aren't they still trying to force the retention of DACA through the federal judiciary?

2018-08-30 23:22:18 UTC

Man, Moral Dilemma. I would explain situation for the man who is falsely accused and then ask him what he wants, then I would take into consideration how bad the charges before I decide.

2018-08-30 23:22:26 UTC

Mark, republicans are also power hungry - it is just I think personally what Republicans do with their power is not as bad as what dems do with their power

2018-08-30 23:22:39 UTC

The federal judiciary is in need of a massive smackdown.

2018-08-30 23:22:48 UTC

If the 10 who are guilty have series crimes, I would keep innocent man in prison. But if the crimes are not very bad, I would release the man.

2018-08-30 23:22:50 UTC

Mostly because of democrat judges.

2018-08-30 23:23:04 UTC

The ninth circuit is overruled almost 90% of the time.

2018-08-30 23:23:10 UTC

I would explain it to the man... so he understands, then have him released on good behavior later and afterwards clear his record.

2018-08-30 23:23:26 UTC

The Ninth Circuit needs to be nuked from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

2018-08-30 23:23:48 UTC

Mark, you know the quote from Thomas Jefferson?

2018-08-30 23:23:50 UTC

My big fear is that the democrats are going to stump for this idea of 'annulment', in which case judicial appointments would be annulled as well.

2018-08-30 23:24:19 UTC

oh no it is not quote from jefferso

2018-08-30 23:24:22 UTC

There's no such thing as 'annulment', unless you mean Trump annulling Obama's legacy of EO's.

2018-08-30 23:24:25 UTC

though I'm sure he said it

2018-08-30 23:24:35 UTC

The innocent man I would give him a light sentence, like 1 year prison time, then release him on good behavior in month and half before clearing his record.. As for the 10 who are guilty, I would punish them with the full book.

2018-08-30 23:24:46 UTC

I know there is no such thing as annulment, but I think they're going to manufacture it.

2018-08-30 23:24:50 UTC

> Other commentators have echoed the principle; Benjamin Franklin stated it as, "it is better 100 guilty Persons should escape than that one innocent Person should suffer"

2018-08-30 23:25:05 UTC

> It is more important that innocence should be protected, than it is, that guilt be punished; for guilt and crimes are so frequent in this world, that all of them cannot be punished.... when innocence itself, is brought to the bar and condemned, especially to die, the subject will exclaim, 'it is immaterial to me whether I behave well or ill, for virtue itself is no security.' And if such a sentiment as this were to take hold in the mind of the subject that would be the end of all security whatsoever
