I won't pretend to feign innocence but I am genuinely curious, what evidence, theories, or ideas exist that constitute the belief in a flat earth?

I'm not looking for a debate, that's too much trouble, and I don't wish to discredit anyone's beliefs

I am merely confused as to how someone reaches that conclusion. Any answers are appreciated.
