<@565177355111497738> Absolutely the huge drive to visit the moon was cold war sentiment
@frogturtle hi Thanos
@frogturtle Keen for the new movie?
@!GPT Marvel has always been thoroughly average, hot take
What's wrong with a trans super hero?
I can't wait for you to see when Thor gives his mantle to a woman
I'd tap that top pic @!GPT
It's 02:15 for me
Hello from the other side of the globe my brother
@Drrakw hell yeah brother keen for the final season?
@Drrakw I'm aussie, same mate
@Human Sheeple no I don't
@Barra Nah aussies can get fucked, bunch of idiots
Speak for yourself stone boy
@DOWN SPECIAL Gaara was objectively the worst jinchuuriki change my mind
Sanbi best bijuu
@Barra Anyone who tends to believe in that relies on creation theory for that note
@Human Sheeple iirc they found a lake under the surface on mars recently
@ใใผใใใผใญใฉใผ it's providing a lot of entertainment man don't kill my vibe
We've already had that earlier today don't worry man
Btw how does someone get verified as a NASA sympathiser (mainstream)?
Is that actually it? I can probably scrounge up a funding pay stub if my files aren't all gone
I'm pro gun because I want the freedom to be able to blow my brains out in a few years
I don't want to resort to OD'ing or a rope
But, riddle me this @Human Sheeple if gravity is just a theory how do I hang myself?
Mars has a blue sunrise
@Do Androids Beat Electric Meat? Dude that is an epic name, respect
Woah man this filter is aggressive
Mars bars taste like crap change my mind
I swore I got out an F bomb just minutes ago, then got warned for it now
I don't even know these candy bars you're talking about
suck my anus agent smith
These warnings man
Agent Smith is a F U C K H E A D
@Seeker of Truth normally I'm open minded but that looks ripe for capital punishment
We never get any of the cool candy here in down under
What if I put my nuts on your donut?
My huge hairy balls you gay boy
Nah but peanuts on the right kind of donut is amazing I can confirm
@Q7W There's a variety of claims, it differs from Flat Earther to Flat Earther
@republicus Are you actually a geocentrist truther? That's more unique than I usually see here
@republicus what about Polaris bothers you?
@republicus what I mean is, what is it that makes you say polaris supports a geocentric model?
Polaris is moving slightly over time though
Are you saying that it can't possibly stay in position because the earth changes tilt?
All known history is a very, _very_ short time celestially
I'm sorry I might just be stupid but I'm not understanding what you're saying? The fact that Polaris is so many light years away is exactly why the relatively minor variations in position due to our orbit does not matter. And the shifting of our axial tilt is over a span of much further than our recorded history
@Muncher yes?
@Muncher no
@Muncher no worries lol. I'm new and I don't know anyone here
@Muncher Haha thank you, no worries I already made a few last night
@republicus solar days are a bit longer than 24 iirc but for timekeeping yes
@Muncher Aww why?
@republicus you mean if we move 4368 hours ahead?
@Muncher when I eventually kill myself I'll use a nicer method than bleach
@republicus not in terms of time keeping. When we keep time we use exactly 24 hours in a day, but a full rotation is not exactly 24 hours
@republicus I'm pretty sure it'
@republicus won't be in the same position
btw if I disappear suddenly, I'm at work so I apologise in advance
Yes but because we are only 1 AU away from the sun the movement due to orbit is important
@Muncher were you getting cigarettes or milk?
@republicus I'm not over complicating it at all, there are many minor variations in position due to things that occur over vast periods of time, such is the nature of the generally understood (shill) model of the universe
Many reductions in complexity, such as "a day is 24 hours exactly" is done precisely because it is accurate enough for it's purpose. Even then we have leap years to deal with the differences
@Muncher bully me some more Astra it gets me hard
๐
Does anyone know how you get verified mainstream?
@republicus yes because we choose to calculate days as 24 hours for ease, differences in time to the solar day are accounted for after the fact
@republicus would you rather have that constant shift in time or just affix the time system to be reliable?
@รtos yeah sorry I'm not smart enough to articulate what I'm trying to say, I don't know what he is arguing
Encyclopedia Dramatica is a very notorious humour site lol, I'm not sure what posting it here is meant to do
He's busy drawing
@gronowo truth
I'll just restate what I and รtos said: a full rotation is a considered a day, but a day in terms of the time we keep is not the same as a solar day, that is subject to variation.
So then here is the issue, when you ask what "time" it will be in 182 days, you are talking about 182 solar days (aka rotations) but then asking about the TIME, which is **NOT** measured in terms of rotations
We don't presume a day is a full rotation in terms of time, that is my point
A day in terms of _time_ is 24 hours, which is _not_ a full rotation
Which is the reason often when you're discussion rotational days vs time keeping, we refer to a full rotation as a _solar day_ rather than just day
Is what noon? When the clock reads 12:00 yes that is considered noon
Not sure I
would have to calculate it
Because 182 rotations is not 24 hours each
Best guess? Could be anything, it's too specific to calculate. Stuff like that varies a lot
If you mean what time is it 182 days later, when by day you mean lots of 24 hours, then of course it is noon
But that isn't the same thing as saying 182 rotations
@Human Sheeple why do you assume you would feel the rotation if it is slow enough?
@Human Sheeple stars rotating is the simplest and most repeatedly observed basic phenomenon
@republicus we observe the days to be 24 hours per day for convenience and because of tradition. But I will say it again, this is _not_ the same as a day in terms of rotation
Blood Moons are so pretty
@republicus again, this seems to be a misunderstanding you have about precision. A full orbit around the sun isn't even 364 days (which is implied by a half orbit at 182). It's about 365.3
You need to be verified I think
@republicus Okay so to be clear, you're saying that you mean in 182 lots of 24 hour days it will be noon?
@republicus You're absolutely correct about that. But 24 hours is not a full rotation of the earth
@republicus He doesn't often elaborate on anything he says, asking for clarification won't help
@Bear. What if my floor is a rotating stripper stage? Checkmate
@Human Sheeple you can balance a spirit level on a basketball
@republicus I'm in the mainstream role so they can clearly see we don't agree
@Human Sheeple hold up are you saying the laser level test doesn't prove a round earth because lasers curve up?
@Mantle I'm up for one
@megแตแถป no, me
@megแตแถป ignore MC Squid Kid he's a troll
