it will most likely be improved, overclocked Pascal on refined process
Nvidia still holds the dominant position, and has no reason to put out massively better performing card series
and Volta is specifically for workstations with it's Tensor cores etc., it's not meant as a gaming architecture, Nvidia will have separate architecture for the gaming side
AMD doesn't really have any real chance of a comeback, the GPU war has been lost long ago
AMD had superior GPUs, at lower price around 2010, yet Nvidia outsold them with rebranded many years old shitty card, the mindshare is very real
as such gaming GPUs are a secondary goal for AMD, the big money is on workstations, server and machine learning contracts
It's a miracle they pulled off Zen, AMD is competing with 2 semiconductor giants, with less than 1 fifth of budget, split between both GPUs and CPUs
Our lad, Jim is spot on as usual
Last time i heard theres nothing to do at all
but
Spore was good
this is 10 years later tho

@joshua post specs and what you use it for
depends on how much money you have tbh
@joshua you sure its 8700P?
8700P is a laptop chip
@joshua wait so its a laptop?
you cant upgrade a lapto
or did you rip out the PCB from laptop with CPU on it xd
if it is laptop then I'd bet its actually 360M, not 360
oh now i see
well i think upgrading to AMD Zen (Pinnacle ridge) 2600X would be a good idea
But it would require a new motherboard and RAM obviously
tremendous upgrade, worth it imo
and next year you could upgrade to Zen 2 manufactured on 7nm, without buying a new motherboard
the GPU could use a replacement as well tho
I think upgrading to RX 580/570 or GTX 1060/1050ti first would be a good idea
then upgrade straight to Zen 2 (3000 series) CPU next year
none
i believe the P variant is only for OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer) [Dell, Acer,...]
and is fitted on an FP4 socket using BGA, so its not user replacable and you already have the best chip availible on that platform anyway
yeah you can
as long as your power supply can support it
couldnt find what wattage the PSU has on that website

@Crow If you know how to mod Bethesda games, you could try Morrowind with graphical, bug fixing and gameplay enhancing mods
I've been planning to do that myself for quite some time
Kingdom Come Deliverance comes to mind
if you havent played that masterpiece yet
Megalul
Anti-White = better human
My little contribution

I've released new version of my mod

custom mission tree, 21 new dynamic province names, decision allowing the formation of Rhodesia on earlier dates

@Xenoframe If i were you I'd go with Ryzen 5 2600X, some nice AM4 motherboard, 3000MHz at least RAMs and a GTX 1060/580
then next year upgrade to Ryzen 3000 series built on 7nm with improvements without having to buy a new motherboard
oof wrong ping, meant him
above^
it will most likely be called 2000 series actually
and it wont be mainstream upgrade
it will focus on Ray tracing and premium technologies
as Nvidia holds the market right now
yes, doesnt mean its true
@Xenoframe the IPC is nearly around the same
and as i said
next year will come 3000 serism built on 7nm with improved architecture, clock speeds should also be alot higher
the current gen is built on 14nm Low Power node, initially intended for mobile processors
7nm will be high power node
wellp, thats a bad choice imo, but its your money
remember that AM4 platform will last until 2020, thats confirmed
so we are looking at Zen 2+ or Zen 3
meanwhile with intel you will have to buy new motherboard next year if you want to upgrade
Because it will actually be worth it
think of it this way
you will save money in the future
and be able to get cheaper, better CPU
than the competition
literally no reason to go with intel now
except some 5 FPS more in Arma
not really
lmao what
show it
no
timestamp
on Arma 3
and unless you have monitor that outputs more than 60Hz, anything over 60 stable is irrelevant
and thats one game
single threaded
lol then you will have to lower settings nayway
3000 seris will get up to 30% single threaded stronger performance so
@Time exactly
it shows percentage of CPU usage
in other words
only 1 or 2 cores are doing something
rest are idle
or handling windows tasks
