Invicta does good stuff
People in Briton over 800k years ago using stone tools
The guy's accent is super fucking annoying, btw.
It's the California valley girl 'raising', but with a British accent
@Ondsinet I'm sure he is, but some people's accents just distract me from the content so much
Well, not people. Hominids yeah but they weren't humans.
A page out of a Hangmans Diary. This is some Monty Pythons weekend at burnies shit
๐ค
Don't show this to the British politicians
didnt dank do a vid about this
That sounds like....something I may need an adult on.
> That moment you realize they were all just insulting each other.
i really didn't think that far but i am slightly upset that the US chose eagle as their national bird instead of turkey which is a country in spain
Well tbh, the Turkey almost did become the National Bird. But it went to the the Bald Eagle because it to is only native here as well and strong.
forever marking your nation as baldylocks
Who's National Bird can kick it's ass?
Though so. Sit down.
the kiwis
Nope
ya think?
The Emus kicked the Aussies ass, While admirable, it isn't impressive
have you ever seen a kiwi=
Yea...
One of that area of the worlds freak animals, made of leftover parts
Australian Eagles are pretty metal IIRC
But it's Australia, everything on the continent is trying to kill everything else
Emus are deadlier in Aussiland.
@Goblin_Slayer_Floki no that's a platypus. kiwi is a ball of fur the size of your nutsack.
consider me slayed
Kiwis are cute
Kinda wish you could domesticate them.
damn, it can lift a Chinook like it's a paper bag...
https://twitter.com/EatKnuckleFritz/status/1126519929392513025
a chinook can lift itself up too
<:turbonice:569204993794768966>
...and then proceeded to completely bankrupt and destroy the British Empire over Poland, which it would later also condemn to decades of Soviet oppression even though it had supposedly started a world war for the sake of that very same nation.
to much info for my brain
seems like a bunch of something that happened years ago
The British Empire was doomed either way. Either Trade Priority would be given up to secure US aid, or the UK would have fallen to the Germans.
It was already beginning to crack before WW2.
are we meant to believe churchhill was a good man or bad <:think_woke:378717098681171988>
he was the right man for the job
i don't believe in qualitative history
Yea he had good and bad about him. But at that time, in that moment, he was the best person to do what was needed.
well then why must the progressives tell us he was a bad man
...
The Germans had no realistic plans or intentions to actually invade Britain, Hitler didn't even want a war with the west to begin with; Operation Sea Lion (1940) for example was nothing more than a decoy to confuse Soviet forces for the upcoming invasion of the USSR in 1941
One can argue that the Empire would've indeed found its end by the end of the century if not the beginning of the new one, however that is a totally different conversation which has little to do with what I said about Churchill
they also confused the soviets with the molotov-ribbentropp non-aggression pact
That was actually primarily not a ruse against the soviets but a show of force against the British
well, they signed it, they shouldn't have broken it
well, i'd argue they shouldn't have signed it in the first place
Should and shouldn't have, irrelevant concepts when the initial meaning of the treaty was the make Britain not declare war over Poland
for one, the nazis were ok with soviet union invading finland
and treaty or no treaty, the USSR and the Third Reich would've invaded each other anyway
oh i do believe international diplomacy is a very relevant concept
It really isn't when the warlords behind them have plans for the future
it's a stupid move to throw that to the bin so soon after the great war
Yeah? Tell that to Britain
those future plans involve other countries believing what the german diplomats say?
They're the ones who declared war and refused all peace offers
German diplomats just followed whatever Hitler told them to follow
so it's britain's fault? what exactly is, i'd like you to clarify too
At the end of the day it was his rashness and grand schemes that forced the war with the USSR
There is no "it"
It's many "it"s
i wouldn't say forced, he was mentally unstable and he had soft shits like himmler talking in his ear
For one, Britain could've very well avoided a war with Germany as could Poland had either of them accepted the German proposals for a referendum, a shared corridor etc. Even the BBC reported on this in August of 1939
the soviet union was completely unprepared for a german invasion
But it was completely prepared for an invasion of its own
Why do you think all of its airfields were right at the border
why do you think none of their defenses were?
or that it was busy clearing minefields in 30s instead of placing more
and none of their materiel at all
well, that must have been before they signed a non-aggression pact
Because the way offensive and defensive armies are composed are radically different
i feel this convo is circular
Well it wasn't, actually
sure, but they are composed with materiel
Soviet buildup not only continued but intensified after the pact just as intended
Pact or no pact, the buildup was a fact
when there's not one military force until leningrad. i do believe they weren't on the cusp of an invasion.
Yeah, and tons of it were right at the border
oh it was now?
That's why the Germans were able to destroy thousands of planes and light tanks even before the summer of 1941 was over
it's quite a bit bigger country
Um, yes they had a plan, but the British Air Force (Bulstered by the American supplies) kept them from air superiority. Which the Army needed to launch an invasion
We aren't talking about the Battle of Britain
but Operation Barbarossa
The Luftwaffe had complete air superiority over the Soviet Union until mid to late 1942
i'm probably done talking
I was commenting to the original, Hitler was a moron. His command yes men.
Eh well
And he couldn't stop a losing invasion, because he already fucked the economy having it planned in detail and being unable to adjust it.
If your arguments boil down to "Hitler was a moron" then I guess I'm done myself
luftwaffe had air superiourity over a country that was on the cusp of an invasion apparently without an air force
i'm a different person than floki, we have different names
that's how you tell us apart
Stalin was never going to invade. Hell he didn't even believe Hitler would invade him. Hence his slow reaction
your was plural
Hitler was one of the few people Stalin actually trusted. More than likely due to German Support of his Rebellion
On the day of the invasion alone the soviet airforce lost 1,200 planes
most of the on the ground
on airfields
right at the new border
but nooo, no invasion plans at all
Because you tend to move plains to a border
Not at the interior
Lets also ignore the fact that tank buildup was outnumbering every other major nation combined
Kinda military 101
You don't for defensive operations
You forget they were fighting Japan?
In 1941?
With their entire army?
Please
An army placed on a defensive position does not have its airforce on the border
that's held true since 1914 and still does today
Why?
Because it's simply way too easy for the enemy to destroy your planes on the ground
peace time isn't a defensive operation
which is exactly what happened
They literally lost 3/4 of their airforce in the first 6 months of fighting
Um Russian planes didn't have much range....Hence the nearby
not quite 3/4 but around 70% if I'm not mistaken
The Luftwaffa outranged them
They had more than enough range to conduct defensive operations had they been placed in the rear
They just couldn't be placed in the rear *and* conduct offensive operations
Just look at the composition of the soviet army during the invasion of Finland and Poland in 1939
It was the same
it's all the same man
the world is a kaleidoscope
flowers are better than tanks
That just tells me you don't know how different armies are composed and placed on the battlefield
Also again Stalin was a moron militarily, as well he didn't think Germany would ever invade
Again, why he didn't respond for near 2 weeks
Stalin didn't need Germany to invade
He was convinced WW1 would repeat itself
and he was mostly correct
the only mistake he made was not predict how quickly Hitler would overrun Western Europe
nobody did
Even Hitler himself was surprised again and again
especially with France and Norway
Stalin's plan was to let the west fight it out then proceed west himself
with his thousands of new tanks and planes
so to sum up. it was all britains fault, staling would have stabbed hitler in the back if not hitler had stabbed stalin in the back first... just like with the night of the long knives and hitler wasn't a moron
Of course it wasn't all Britain's fault
it's interesting you know stalin's plans
France did fall faster then Norway. and because of the fall of France, UK had to pull out of norway where they was pushing the Germans back to go and save their allies in France.
as I said, Hitler was too rash and impatient but certainly not a moron
Churchill was no moron either
He had to be, because he planned his economy out, and factories were already converting to the next stage
but it's not like he had any intention of ending the war when he could have in the spring and summer of 1940
And the Invasion was taking to much
can I have the TL : DR version please ๐
@TwinVickers I don't claim to have some deep personal insight into Stalin's mind, this is not hidden knowledge, it's all out there
Churchill had no power in 1940. He was part of the War Cabinet, mostly to shut him up.
Well until May
He was made PM on May 10th
But war was already underway
Both himself and the ministers before him had ample chances to not only end the war but find a settlement with Poland before it had even started
the conclusion is that WW2 was not some heroic struggle against evil but a tragedy perhaps bigger than WW1 that should've never happened in the first place
and it lead us right where we are today
The only one before him could was Chamberlin, and after making "Deals" with the Rhine, and Czech, Hitler knew he could walk all over him
What's funny is that the British still have that old imperial gleam in their eye
thinking that the empire must be out there, somewhere
it's just been misplaced
And the Germans still desire a Reich
^
Russians are trying to rebuild the Bloc (minus Communism)
Of course they did, and?
Every Nation desires to be back to how they were in their hight
What is your claim of righteousness here when the allies let all of Eastern Europe to the Soviets after 1945
Welcome to humanity
We couldn't take it from them, after all they pushed the Nazies out of it
When Poland didn't even exist in 1940, Britain wargoal was finished
and it had no chance to peace-out with Germany on her terms had it not brought in the United States
It was also part of the agreement to get Soviet Aid in the Pacific Theater
under a president which just so happened to dislike both Germany and the Empire
Eh Multiple Presidents had a hand in that. And you have to thank Japan really
Before Pearl, US wasn't going to go to war
Anyways I've got to get going but at least this talk has been more civilized here than I expected
The US embargoed Japanese oil and intentionally placed its entire pacific fleet on Pearl Harbor
It's not squeaky clean either
nobody was
Yes, but if Japan never took the bait, we wouldn't have gone to war. The People, and Congress were vietnamly against another Euro War
bleh spelling
Even so, Roosevelt kept sending Britain war supplies even before the german declaration of war after Pearl Harbor
Well of course
The UK 'paid' us for them
and the only reason Hitler did do that is so that the Uboats could have engaged American shipping on the Pacific
Lol, the US took the UK to the 'cleaners'
By dropping Colonial Priority trading, and handing us their Military Secrets
All their valuable enterprises sold for scraps
all their imperial gold
just everything was wiped clean even before the war had reached a conclusion
I think anyone will happy trade if they get cruiser full of gold in return
Basically
And the radar system
Which the UK was the sole developer of.
We took those plans in a heartbeat and mass produced it
Centimetric radar radar, not radar as a whole
Anyway I've got to get going
Cheers
Well true, but it was cutting edge, and valuable. But anywho yea. I should go to
To be fair we had to rape them twice.
my farts are bigger than little boy but they both emit a slight U235 odor
