I've now run into more than one real sociopath, and they ARE convincing. They ARE good actors. They KNOW how to play you.

At my last job, the company got a big infusion of venture capital. Within months, a sociopath showed up and took over the department. He mass purged the competent with principles, and surrounded himself with sycophants.
