2017-10-31 17:54:10 UTC

tbh, you could always go the route of building a system like mine, roughly $1700, but you could easily go cheaper

2017-10-31 17:55:37 UTC

$300 for the board, $110 each for the processors, $80 for RAM, $70 for the coolers

2017-10-31 17:56:31 UTC

16 cores gg

2017-10-31 17:56:41 UTC

is the memory ecc

2017-10-31 17:56:49 UTC

yeah

2017-10-31 17:58:00 UTC

had dual X5550's, 4 cores 8 threads each, worked like a champ, but REALLY gets hot

2017-10-31 17:58:01 UTC

wtf is wrong with u man. you need a nuclear power plant just to turn your computer on.

2017-10-31 17:58:23 UTC

only like 650W under full load

2017-10-31 17:59:56 UTC

@Polygon what program is that to view all specs

2017-10-31 18:00:01 UTC

i forget the name

2017-10-31 18:00:39 UTC

im too lazy to build my own. id rather just get the ibuypowers cause they've never let me down so far

2017-10-31 18:04:01 UTC

lul

2017-10-31 18:04:16 UTC

all bottlenecked by one memory controller per 2 cores, making two cores peforming at 75% of their theoretical max

2017-10-31 18:04:16 UTC

i wouldnt know tbh ive always had intel processors this is my first amd

2017-10-31 18:04:25 UTC

sure, good enough, but not good for the money

2017-10-31 18:04:31 UTC

ryzen is the only good amd processor

2017-10-31 18:04:34 UTC

ever lol

2017-10-31 18:04:42 UTC

would've been great if you got like a ryzen 1400 or even 1500

2017-10-31 18:05:23 UTC

im not worried about it, it'll run ark which is all i need it for tbh

2017-10-31 18:05:36 UTC

i was too lazy to read up on the amd jargon

2017-10-31 18:05:50 UTC

im still an intel man

2017-10-31 18:06:23 UTC

i just shit that out real quick

2017-10-31 18:07:11 UTC

well, you do have a point

2017-10-31 18:07:17 UTC

2017-10-31 18:10:33 UTC

:)

2017-10-31 18:11:20 UTC

1500x is 55% better than the FX 6300

2017-10-31 18:13:50 UTC

The first computer that I ever built has been based on AM3. Starting tomorrow, I begin a year worth of savings so I can build an AM4 computer.

2017-10-31 18:15:58 UTC

it was good at the time

2017-10-31 18:16:32 UTC

in 2012, honestly it was competitive, but amd didn't push for a new architecture soon enouigh

2017-10-31 18:17:34 UTC

I built it in 2014. And frankly, it was a nice upgrade when I got it, just like the prebuilts and the laptop before it.

2017-10-31 18:18:20 UTC

Unlike those computers, this one is still halfway decent. I have to turn down the settings on my high-end games, but it's half decent.

2017-10-31 18:21:02 UTC

I've built plenty of computers, honestly not that many amd systems, only two in my living. I work specifically with asrock and ASUS boards. My first amd system was in 2015, and it had an 8320 in it, second system was a Ryzen 1600. The 1600 was easy to work through, easy overclocking, just plain good. But I work mostly with xeons and HEDT stuff, so.

2017-10-31 18:51:06 UTC

idk man i'll probably just keep it for now. i need something to play ARK on the servers with indepent of the server machine - its just a temporary machine. im planning on buying a super machine in a year or so with an intel. the server machine is an i7 4.2 ghz - and i do all of my business computing on my alienware ripley labtop but ARK is muh obsession desu

2017-10-31 18:51:16 UTC

idk about amd tho, ive never had one

2017-10-31 19:04:15 UTC

it's a giveaway

2017-10-31 21:49:10 UTC

well the computer came and the gfx card wouldnt output to monitors so i have to return it cause im not working on it. cant get a display out of it ffs.

2017-10-31 21:49:46 UTC

ibuypower did let me down

2017-10-31 23:01:43 UTC

HAHAHAHAHA

2017-10-31 23:01:48 UTC
