2018-03-13 20:25:21 UTC

im sure you can run plenty of things at 1440p over 100

if you set the quality to medium

2018-03-13 20:25:21 UTC

I've actually done testing. 100fps with Gsync is smoother than 165 without it

2018-03-13 20:25:27 UTC

lol okay

2018-03-13 20:25:27 UTC

Lol

2018-03-13 20:25:29 UTC

Cute

2018-03-13 20:25:35 UTC

some <:brainlet:404155381359706132> chat right there

2018-03-13 20:25:43 UTC

You're insulting me, but you don't even know what Gsync is

2018-03-13 20:25:46 UTC

Retard

2018-03-13 20:26:06 UTC

You're literally saying irrelevant insults that have nothing to do with reality

2018-03-13 20:26:12 UTC

youre really hung up on gsync

2018-03-13 20:26:15 UTC

inferiority issues

2018-03-13 20:26:22 UTC

the topic was SLI

2018-03-13 20:26:36 UTC

@Polygon get a load of this guy oml

2018-03-13 20:26:43 UTC

but keep rambling about how smooth your gaming experience is running at half the refresh rate of your monitor

2018-03-13 20:26:47 UTC

Yeah, and SLI sux donkey dick

2018-03-13 20:26:54 UTC

Half?

2018-03-13 20:27:00 UTC

Half would be 82.5

2018-03-13 20:27:04 UTC

the benchmarks dont lie

2018-03-13 20:27:05 UTC

I run over that

2018-03-13 20:27:11 UTC

sure you do

2018-03-13 20:27:35 UTC

Depends on the game, and adjust slightly lower AA or lowering shadows doesn't bother me because I'm not a brainlet

2018-03-13 20:27:52 UTC

Brb, taking a shower rather than wasting my time with you.

2018-03-13 20:28:02 UTC

gta5 literally runs 60fps at 1440p on a 1070

2018-03-13 20:28:12 UTC

and that game is how old now

2018-03-13 20:28:33 UTC

keep telling yourself that SLI isnt needed <:brainlet:404155381359706132>

2018-03-13 20:29:00 UTC

I run on high not very high and use no postfx since they do nothing. Still have Tess and 4x msaa and run consistently over 80fps, and GTA doesn't need to be at much higher than 60 to look very good and feel very good

2018-03-13 20:29:15 UTC

Do you have SLI 1070's?

2018-03-13 20:29:25 UTC

Or what

2018-03-13 20:29:32 UTC

turning down settings and turning off effects to get 80fps
some big brain shit right there dude

2018-03-13 20:29:38 UTC

how much did that gsync logo cost you again

2018-03-13 20:29:49 UTC

You're a sad individual, answer the question

2018-03-13 20:30:07 UTC

cant deal with the reality mang

2018-03-13 20:30:15 UTC

Is this bait

2018-03-13 20:30:20 UTC

you tell me

2018-03-13 20:30:31 UTC

you are unironically saying youre turning settings down to get 80fps

2018-03-13 20:30:36 UTC

and still dont see the need for SLI

2018-03-13 20:30:44 UTC

I feel retarded for talking to you since your arguments are stupid

2018-03-13 20:30:46 UTC

๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฟ

2018-03-13 20:30:55 UTC

And I wouldn't SLI, I would rather get a 1080Ti

2018-03-13 20:31:08 UTC

But they are overpriced now, and I'm waiting for 2080Ti instead

2018-03-13 20:31:21 UTC

I'm comfortable with my current performance until then.

2018-03-13 20:31:28 UTC

>1080ti is overpriced
>ill wait for a new gen that surely wont be overpriced

2018-03-13 20:31:33 UTC

>your arguments are stupid

2018-03-13 20:31:42 UTC

1080Ti is overpriced because of "mining"

2018-03-13 20:31:50 UTC

yeah m ining wont exist in a year

2018-03-13 20:31:59 UTC

There's speculation that they might use firmware to prevent new cars from mining

2018-03-13 20:32:19 UTC

Maybe temporarily to get the cards into consumer hands

2018-03-13 20:32:25 UTC

nice hopefully you get one at 800$

2018-03-13 20:32:25 UTC

Or make a lineup for miners

2018-03-13 20:32:31 UTC

so you can finally play games above 80fps

2018-03-13 20:32:41 UTC

Lol, you're too much dude

2018-03-13 20:32:58 UTC

Even if I had a 2080Ti, Gsync is a whole different argument

2018-03-13 20:33:06 UTC

i just find it hillarious that ppl like you buy high hz monitors you cant even use

2018-03-13 20:33:09 UTC

but muh gsync

2018-03-13 20:33:11 UTC

Once you go to it, in games like CS, you truly can't live without it

2018-03-13 20:33:24 UTC

And guess what, I get way over my refresh rate on CS

2018-03-13 20:33:31 UTC

And the difference is spectacular

2018-03-13 20:33:41 UTC

congrats on getting 165hz in a 20 year old game

2018-03-13 20:33:44 UTC

<:GWfroggyBlobSweat:398569211242479627>

2018-03-13 20:33:48 UTC

I bought my monitor after I already had the card

2018-03-13 20:33:59 UTC

Also I mean GO

2018-03-13 20:34:13 UTC

source is still running on quake engine

2018-03-13 20:34:31 UTC

and I didn't have the money to buy a new card and at this rate, this late and nearing new card releases, I'm just waiting and enjoying what I have

2018-03-13 20:35:06 UTC

I got my monitor like august

2018-03-13 20:35:16 UTC

And had my card since December 2016

2018-03-13 20:35:21 UTC

buying a second 1070 is a bigger brained move than buying a single 2080ti

2018-03-13 20:35:32 UTC

But the 1070 is too expensive right now

2018-03-13 20:35:38 UTC

they will prob outperform the 2x cards

2018-03-13 20:35:57 UTC

They will definitely outperform the 2x cards

2018-03-13 20:36:14 UTC

That's why I'm waiting rather than spending money on another of the same card

2018-03-13 20:36:31 UTC

I've done SLI before rather than wait and I won't make that financial mistake again l

2018-03-13 20:36:32 UTC

the card market is dead either way

2018-03-13 20:36:38 UTC

the best option is getting a prebuilt now

2018-03-13 20:36:41 UTC

Until new releases

2018-03-13 20:37:00 UTC

And I have everything else in my rig pretty set so I don't have a need for a new PC.

2018-03-13 20:37:09 UTC

Anyways, I have to take a shower

2018-03-13 20:37:18 UTC

Nice and also terrible talking to you

2018-03-13 20:37:25 UTC

Goodbye

2018-03-13 20:37:28 UTC

anyway my point was sli is the only real way to achieve high hz/4k

2018-03-13 20:37:34 UTC

enjoy the angry shower <:GWjiangoPepeFedora:389447036329656323>

2018-03-13 20:37:46 UTC

1080Ti versus 1070SLI

2018-03-13 20:37:58 UTC

980ti sli beats 1080ti

2018-03-13 20:38:02 UTC

1080T is more practical

2018-03-13 20:38:14 UTC

The 980Ti is in some cases better than the 1070

2018-03-13 20:38:22 UTC

But then you're limited to 6gb of vram

2018-03-13 20:38:38 UTC

And much more power draw, like WAY more

2018-03-13 20:38:46 UTC

400w easily under load

2018-03-13 20:38:50 UTC

Or more

2018-03-13 20:39:00 UTC

From just the cards

2018-03-13 20:39:26 UTC

And the performance is only a little better, but some games with no SLI support or trashy optimization it's just back to not being worth it.

2018-03-13 20:39:30 UTC

Especially for cost

2018-03-13 20:39:36 UTC

So single best card every time

2018-03-13 20:39:45 UTC

If it just comes out and you want more, then SLI the best card

2018-03-13 20:39:51 UTC

Simple

2018-03-13 20:39:56 UTC

Cya

2018-03-13 21:38:15 UTC

:p

2018-03-13 21:39:26 UTC

980 Ti in SLI beats 1080 Ti in synthetic benchmarks, you mean

2018-03-13 21:40:32 UTC

in real games, like GTA V, Crysis 3, PUBG, etc. are a different story

2018-03-13 21:41:34 UTC

Synthetic benchmarks show the 980 Ti in SLI beating one 1080 Ti, simply because synthetics have perfect scaling of GPUs
