Bottom line:

M193 and most 5.45x39mm loads are excellent for wounding, but have poor cover penetration

M855 is slightly better at defeating armour but rubbish at wounding

M855A1 is better than M855 at wounding

7.62x39mm is SHIT at wounding and going through armour, but good at going through cover

Notice how the M995 (an AP round) doesn't go through as much SOFT cover as the 5.45x39mm FMJ

cover =/= armour

5.56mm M855 FMJ has the same penetration as 5.56mm M995 AP as well
